http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-24343074
Ed Miliband has accused the Daily Mail of lying about his father after the newspaper headlined an article about him as "The man who hated Britain". The Labour leader said he was "appalled" that after offering him a right of reply, the paper had repeated its original article and also now "described my father's legacy as evil". He said it raised questions about morality and boundaries for newspapers. The Mail says it will not apologise and stands by the story. ... Prime Minister David Cameron was asked about the row on BBC Radio 4's Today programme, but said he had not read the original article or the response from the Labour leader. He added, though, that "if anyone had a go at my father I would want to respond vigorously" so totally "understand what Ed's done". Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg said he supported the Labour leader, tweeting: "Politics should be about playing the ball, not the man, certainly not the man's family."
The daily mail is scum what else is new
Good god I would rather have someone in politics who grew up in an environment where being critical of what you worked towards was okay.
Fucking disgusting. The daily mail should be shut down or burned down.
They can be sued for defamation can't they?
They can be sued for defamation can't they?
Even if he could, it wouldn't be good form for one of the possible next Prime Ministers to be suing the press.
Ed's response, really worth a read. http://www.labour.org.uk/my-dad-was-a-man-who-loved-britain

Never understood the Daily Mail. Some of the most qualified journalists in the world, and yet they do nothing but spout worthless drivel. I've seen school newspapers that are less biased, it's just bonkers.

Nothing new here, daily mail being scum as usual.
How can you in good conscience write that article over entries in a person's journal from the age of 17? The other excerpts are so loose to the final conclusion and also omitting that despite his political views, he fought for this country.
Daily mail has to be the least subtle trash ever.
