so, i got fed up with win 7 and used parted from my ubuntu livecd to remove it. now i thought, why not extend the windows xp partition with the space left behind, so i did.
unbeknownst to me, it not only resized, but moved the entire partition, leaving hidden windows files behind (oh yeah that's crap).
now i'm up and running, rather unstable, but i'm back. since most of my stuff runs rather unstably i'd really like to recover the old partition.
i do not know if it was totally wiped away when it was moved, but helpdisk couldn't see it. and partitionmagic cant re-resize my partition so i can recover the old XP.
i'm not into wiping since my sound drivers are a pain to get running, please help me.
