Just trying to get my voice to sound like Kraftwork in "The robots" Audacity sucked, FL studio wouldn't import my voice. Another reference voice would be the Protectrons from Fallout 3
(The Protectron would be preferrable)
Thanks everyone
FL Studio is probably the simplest way. Check some tutorials.
You might not even need a vocoder. The delay in Dblue Glitch (a free plugin) can get you pretty close the Protectron sound using a very fast delay time.
Vocodex
Try to import it again, it should work. Vocodex is the best vocoder I've heard and seen, you can get lots of sounds out of it. The only other vocoder I've used is Live's and it's only decent.
After playing around with Vocodex I feel as though I have a work around for my singing.
I can't think of any software off the top of my head, but I just got this (http://www.korg.com/microkorg) for christmas and it has some AWESOME robot voices. If you're willing to pay the price, let me tell you it is well worth it.
Microkorgs are horrible imo. The interface is bad, and I personally don't enjoy having to twist a knob continuously to change other parameters of the sound.
I mean, they sound just fine, but I would save up that 300/400 bucks and spend it on something else.

That's kinda like buying an electric guitar to get new pick-ups.

Buying a microkorg just to get a vocoder seems insanely dumb to me.
I mean yeah it has a good vocoder but so does FL Studio.
