NVIDIA have been quite the busy green little bee this year, and now news is circling that a dual GF110 based GPU is on it's way. Enter, GTX595. It's a single PCB based solution, the card looks to have 3 DVI slots - which should handle 3D Vision Surround from the single card (which is a major hurdle for NVIDIA at the moment in regards to multi-monitor tech, NVIDIA's solution requiring SLI). The card could feature up to 3GB of memory (1.5GB per GPU), it requires 2 x 8 pin power connectors and is SLI capable. Got your wallets ready? I sure have. Well as long this GPU causes the prices of other GPUs to drop I am happy.
It probably won't drop the 580's price, but oh well. Fucking 580 is always out of stock :sigh:.
Finally.
Time to upgrade my 295 methinks.
2 8 pins \;
2 8 pins \;
just one of the GPUs going into this card is almost better than a dual GPU card, what did you expect?
just one of the GPUs going into this card is almost better than a dual GPU card, what did you expect?
In addition to this, most modular PSUs that are even capable of powering this thing probably have enough 8-pins. Now waiting for Axiom to buy three of these and put them in SLI.
2 8 pins \;
why does that even matter? any good PSU should have plenty of 8-pins, and at the least come with adapters.
nuclear reactors etc.
This thing will be a fucking beast.
Should I replace my 480 with this?
4 slot cooler i bet [editline]20th November 2010[/editline] also, isn't asus doing this too with the ARES 2? [editline]20th November 2010[/editline]
Now waiting for Axiom to buy three of these and put them in SLI.
and then break it
Pepper;26182228']4 slot cooler i bet [editline]20th November 2010[/editline] also, isn't asus doing this too with the ARES 2? [editline]20th November 2010[/editline] and then break it
The joke is that they can't do three way SLI. Also, it's probably going to be a standard 2 slot cooler. GF110 doesn't have the same heat issues GF100 did.
My wallet is ready.
Pepper;26182228']4 slot cooler i bet
no.
Pepper;26182228']also, isn't asus doing this too with the ARES 2?
is that even relevant to this thread, or are you trying to start a flame war?
Pepper;26182228']and then break it
what?
Does this thing actually have two 580 GPUs in it or is it like the GTX 295 where it uses two of the midrange GPUs (295 has two 260 GPUs)
This would bankrupt me - explode my PSU - and bottleneck my CPU but the look on my friend the Nvidia fanboy's face when he finds out i have one you can't put a price on.
what?
just read it again and noticed it was 2 580s glued together asus is making a card with 2 480s on it remember that i7 980x build that axiom had? broken
This makes me want to upgrade my crossfire 5770s. Too bad I can't sacrifice my arm/leg etc etc...

This makes my 9600 GT feel old ;_;
I have a E8500 OC'd to 3.6, can push to 4+ I also have an 8800GT What kind of upgrade would it be if I bought this card? Would it bottleneck my CPU? Would an i5 760 handle it better? If so how much?
it would be a huge upgrade, your CPU would bottleneck it and yes an i5 760 would handle it better by a lot

And it's gonna cost as much as an entire brand new pc. No thanks, I'll stick with the superior value of AMD.
And it's gonna cost as much as an entire brand new budget pc. No thanks, I'll stick with the superior value of AMD.
dumb, fanboy etc I wish I could fit a 5970 in my case, or even afford it. I mean it costs $600 I could build a new high end HTPC with that! idiot
And it's gonna cost as much as an entire brand new budget pc. No thanks, I'll stick with the superior value of AMD.
How... box.
Should I replace my 480 with this?
Yes. The 595 is (theoretically) cooler, quieter, and more powerful. Less risk, more juice. Better bang for your buck (all 600 of them).
