More Don Cheadle, better have more screen time than the last movie
'Shit Man 3'
Ouch burn
I thought Tony Stark quit in the end of the last iron man, so how will he be in the Avengers 2?
I liked Iron Man 3 ;_;
Cool though. He's pretty likeable.
Iron Man 3 was the Incredibles: Redux, with a predictable, nonsensical plot. Don Cheadle didn't really do anything remarkable in it other than work as a plot device, and I haven't even seen Iron Man 2.
But fuck, I liked the original guy playing Rhodey so much better.
I didn't really like Thor at all after watching the film, but the Avengers changed my opinion of him to the point that I can tolerate him being on the screen, so it'll be interesting to see if the same can be done for Rhodey.

[sp]His obsession and dependence on the suit for his mental health is over. He let go of being a man in a can by symbolically getting the reactor removed and tossing it. He's not actually quitting though. Now he feels confidence that he IS Iron Man. There is no IronMan without Tony Stark, and he can do anything. [/sp]

Oooh okay thanks haha. Saw it a while ago and didn't really remember much of it.
I still miss Terrence Howard.
The casting director didn't even tell him he was replaced by Don Cheadle until the first day of shooting for Iron Man 2. Jerk.

I never understood why people go into super hero movies expecting to see Citizen Kane. It's a superhero movie, the entire premise is nonsensical and predictable, thats the point. Good guy defeats bad guy and saves the day. It's the most basic form of story writing. It's mean to hit all age groups, everyone from 4 year olds and their grandparents taking them to see the movie.

Just because it's based on a children's comic book doesn't mean it has to cater entirely to the lowest common denominator. The first and second Spiderman films and The Dark Knight had lots of mature themes that catered to different audiences and still had lots of kickass action. I think executives try too hard to have a golden ratio of easywatchability.

Yeah and the dark night movies were full of plot holes despite trying to be excessively dark and broody. I prefer a fun action movie with lots of jokes rather than an over dramatization of a comic book character.
Tony stark will be in future movies but as tony stark not iron man. This is shown as the ending of previous movies saying "Iron Man will return In the avengers" while iron man 3 ended with "Tony Stark will return."
Wait, people disliked Iron Man 3? Why? Is it because it didn't make any sense?
Well.
No fucking shit it didn't make sense. It's Iron Man. Nothing is supposed to make sense, because if it did, it would be boring.

I think it was mostly the 'true' fans of the character that hated it, like how they totally made a retard of the Mandarin character.
For me personally, I just didn't like it because it felt like the plot was really thin and flimsy. Too much slapstick stupidity, poor set pieces and locations, just general nonsense. Even saying that doesn't really explain to well why I didn't like it... it's difficult. It had all the pieces needed to be a great movie (right actors, right characters), but compared to the first two it just trailed off into pointlessness. Like those stupid 500 iron man suits flying around getting blown up, seemingly made of aluminium foil. And the stupid armor suit that couldn't hold its shit together.. "lel his suit fell apart 9/10 comedy spectacular that suit is such a goof lolol!".
The second movie felt like a genuine continuation of the first, and Favreau did a fantastic job again in the directors seat. For me, the third movie felt like it was instead made for the kids to like. Too light hearted and full of cartoonish action and attempts at creating laughs.
You totally missed the point of everything, lol
The iron legion self-destructing was symbolic of tony giving up his "build robots in the basement" lifestyle and letting go of all his side projects, the suit falling apart was because he was sleep-deprived while he was building it and didn't make it properly, and of course that was played for laughs, it's iron man, he's a comedic superhero, but just because it was that doesn't make it all meaningless.
I dont think he was arguing about the fact they self destructed, it was that the suits were easily destroyed by some guys bare fists.
Most of ironmans comedy is from snarky remarks not slap stick.
I did enjoy iron man 3 though , i just liked the first one more.
idk, I personally wasn't a huge fan of don cheadle as a replacement, thought the first guy they got was good.

I thought it was better than 2 but not as good as 1. I like how they focused less on Tony Stark the Iron Man and more on Tony Stark the Human Being, even if it was a little bit forced.
Terrance Howard was apparently an asshole on the set of the first film, and asked for more money than they were paying Robert for the second one.
Sounds fair that they replaced him.

Can't speak for the first bit, but I was under the impression that the studio wanted Cheadle for the first film, but couldn't get him and settled for Howard. When Cheadle became available, they offered Howard a tiny amount of money to get him to back out of his contract so they could hire Cheadle.
But this might all be gossip.

Pretty sure Terrence Howard got fired because he was paid significantly more than any other actor on the set for playing a secondary character, and along with that he did a pretty terrible job at it that left the fans and Jon Favreau really disappointed at the performance. It was like financing a nice solid steel train and putting a magnificently useless little slab of golden poo on the top.
Not to mention that his salary was supposed to get nearly doubled for Iron Man 2 (from 4.5 million to 8 million) and he was really pissed that the money went to, you know, THE MAIN CAST rather than a secondary character that he badly portrayed.
After he got fired, Terrence Howard just started boasting about how he got Robert Downey Jr on the job and how the same Robert Downey Jr somehow betrayed him by taking his money and pushing him out of the door. He's probably still pissed about it to this very day.
Who thinks they are adding warmachine back so his suit can be possessed by Ultron as the big bad? The concept art for ultron does look very...warmachiney

That would be the third time War Machine appears in a movie and also the third time he gets his suit stolen from someone.
War Machine isn't too skilled at not getting robbed all the fucking time.
