Hi guys, i'm worried cause my cpu can get up to a 100 C It is a Core i7 920 [editline]03:59AM[/editline] Its average is about 69 or something EDIT: Found the voltages
My average is around 40C, I'd be worried.
post voltages
Is there anything to do to cool it down? [editline]04:00AM[/editline] how do i find voltages?
download hwmonitor and post a screenshot of it [editline]10:01PM[/editline] chances are you just need to clean your case. spray it out with a can of compressed air.
... Do you mean open the case and then spray or just spray the back?
Open case and spray it. With a can of compressed air (cheap as at a computer store) dont use a vacuum, I think it can wipe your HD or something. Post HWM screen shot.
hwmoniter? i already did
is this a laptop or desktop if desktop open it up make sure the fan is turning
uhhh, does it making loud noises count as the fan working? or is that bad?
is this a laptop or desktop if desktop open it up make sure the fan is turning
Desktop.
hwmoniter? i already did
Sorry. Missed that somehow :\
Your fan is probably clogged with dust. You can blow the dust out with a can of compressed air or remove the heat sink and give it a rinse (you will have to re-apply thermal paste if you do) -Do not vacuum the pc. -Do not hold the air canister upside down while spraying. -Do not spin the fan around with air.
-Do not spin the fan around with air.
Why's that?
Put it in the water. [editline]j/k[/editline] What? Just sayin'
You will spin it above 3000rpm and break the ball bearings. [editline]10:20AM[/editline]
Put it in the water. [editline]j/k[/editline] What? Just sayin'
And dont do this. (can be done with mineral oil btw)
You might wanna try underclocking if you don't wanna buy a new heatsink/fan and cleaning doesnt work. It seems to me you got GHz's enough..
-Do not vacuum the pc.
i made this about a week ago and nothing bad happened,
Vacuum's create static electricity, bad for computer.
The vacuum itself doesn't create static electricity, It's the dust particles that race over the surface.
I vacuum my PC all the time. :colbert:
I vacuum my PC all the time. :colbert:
As a general rule, vacuum and PC do not mix. You can get away with it only if you're very, very careful. I like the compressed air idea better. Also, mineral oil and a toothpick work well if you're willing to remove the heatsink.
You might wanna try underclocking if you don't wanna buy a new heatsink/fan and cleaning doesnt work. It seems to me you got GHz's enough..
do i do that in BIOS or is there a software cause i dont like going into BIOS
It's a lot better to do it in the BIOS, even if there is a tool to do it with the i7. What's so wrong with the BIOS? Just make sure to touch the settings you need to.
i made this about a week ago and nothing bad happened,
You got lucky.
I vacuum my PC all the time. :colbert:
Your gonna kill it eventually.
I would be freaking the fuck out if anything in my pc reached boiling point. infact, im freaking out because my new gpu gets up to 150F :ohdear: (which is normal, so i shouldn't be freaking out)

Nothing is wrong here, so why shouldn't I do those things and why shouldn't he. I vacuum it every time I clean it actually. 6 years and running good.
I vacuum my pc enjoy your esd I hold the air canister upside down sometimes enjoy your condensation I spin the fan with air. enjoy your burnt out motor Nothing is wrong here, so why shouldn't I do those things and why shouldn't he.
a
ESD? The hell is that? My fans all work fine. [editline]04:51PM[/editline] Also, I don't vacuum the computer directly, I blow the dust out and vacuum it from there.
I have always directly vacuumed any PCs I've cleaned and spun the fans with air, and have yet to have any issues at all.
