Menomonie — A University of Wisconsin-Stout student from Saudi Arabia died Monday, Oct. 31, one day after being assaulted on a street in downtown, Menomonie police and school officials said.
Hussain Saeed Alnahdi, 24, was a junior majoring in business administration who enrolled in UW-Stout in 2015, according to a statement from the university.
Alnahdi was assaulted shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 near Topper's Pizza in the 400 block of Main St. East by an assailant described only as a white male, about 6 feet tall, according to Menomonie police.
Police found Alnahdi unconscious and bleeding from his mouth and nose before he was hospitalized and died from his injuries Monday, according to police and university officials.
Police said the motive for the slaying is not yet clear, but on social media there was concern about the possibility that it could be a hate crime.
This has been making some buzz around my campus in MN and it's terrified a few of my Muslim and Middle-Eastern friends. Very concerned with what the investigation will find about the motive.
Whelp. More racial tension. Lovely.
If it's somehow related to Trump becoming president I'll blow a gasket

Happened before the election, so doubtful.

He died about two weeks ago, Oct. 31st, but there's still a lot of speculating that it was race-related. Nothing conclusive yet, but the FBI recently hopped on the case a while back, too.
Still no arrest or any conclusive evidence on who the murderer is or the motive behind it. I thought it was relevant, because it may be indicative of growing racial violence - but until the attacker is found, can't know for sure. Not related to the Trump victory, though - this was two weeks back.
Well I totally missed the date
Go me
I live about 15 minutes away from where this happened and I'd like to point out that literally every weekend theres drunk college kids starting fights. Last Friday a guy walked into my friends house, tried to fight him, threw up and passed out on his couch. 2am, when the attack happened, is when the bars close here so, yknow
