so guys im making a movie, well, we are really just making the script but we have the actors and stuff.
one question is eating my brain...how do you guys do to record empty places?
i was thinking on getting up at 5:00 am or something, or maybe some green screen effect?
first maybe give some more details about the movie and location? We have nothing to work on here.
i want to take some takes(lol) on a city...part of the city
I think a greenscreen would be ineffective unless it's a HUGE greenscreen- especially since you're planning to shoot it in a large area.
about the 5:00 idea, it would be hard to do because of the organization thats required, but i dont see other choice.
If you basicly want to have the city as a still background recorded with your actor walking through the scene you could place a camera on a tripod an record for a while and then let your actor do his acting. After the shoot you take your footage into your editing program and create a background image using keyed out parts of the city from different times in the clip where no one is on that spot and afterwards play the footage of your actor over it while masking everthing around him out.
I guess this has to sound bit gibberish to you, I'm not a native speaker but you can always ask.
that would be hard to do, i mean, im taking dirty scenes, with a lot of camera movement and going forward and stuff.
With camera movement its pretty hard and I don't really know if there is any way you could edit something like that so you have to figure out a way to keep the peoples away.
Have you tried this stuff?
you cant always get what you want. plan around it.
hide the camera in a bag or under some clothing. This way you could record anything you like without getting much attention.
Its seems just filming many many shots until you finally get one where you don't see anyone moving around. Early in the morning would obviously help.
