Hey, I've been building together my first gaming PC, and after some feedback both from my Steam friend and the people at r/buildapc I've come up with the following build.

Since I'll be buying the parts from mindfactory.de, the actual price, with PC parts (minus Windows 8 OEM) and the monitor comes to a total of 1,317€.
Is this build good or is there still room for improvement?
Keep in mind that
* The GPU is by NVidia since their Linux GPU drivers are better than AMD's
* The abundance of case fans is to keep the system silent and cool, while still allowing some room for overclocking. That's not my main goal, though.
* The amount of RAM may be more than what's necessary, but it could come useful if I were to create a RAM disk or run multiple VMs. That and the cost is far more negligible compared to other components.
Try to replace the PSU with a gold certified or you may be buying another PSU after you use this for a month or so.

I thought the ratings stood for efficiency, not reliability.

They do but the general rule is the higher the rating, the higher the quality components and build quality, but that PSU should be fine.
80 gold is generally a waste of money. If you're on any sort of budget, go with a bronze

Also I'd swap to a Samsung SSD and Seagate HDD. Both are usually cheaper and faster.

Agreeing with Npc_hydra3. I only suggested a gold cert so you could easily upgrade your system without having PSU problems.

The PSU he selected is pretty good itself, he should be fine.

I'd switch out that CPU cooler for a Hyper 212 EVO
You did very good, but you can go cheaper on the RAM. The Cooler Master 212 is a better CPU cooler and is a little bit more. Lastly, Windows 7 is cheaper if you want that instead.
Okay, I just ordered the parts.
Based on your suggestions and some others, I switched the CPU cooler for a Hyper 212 EVO, the SSD for a 120 GB Samsung EVO and the HDD for a 1 TB Seagate Barracuda.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I can't wait to be able to put this rig together. :)
