Very cool of them, recommend this game to everyone, it's fantastic.
This is easily my favorite game released this year.
That's a good idea, wonder what chunk they cut out at for it though. I thought the beta was probably a good point, right at the end of Act I, it gives you plenty of time to experience the game but not enough at the same time.

It's the first half of Act I.
Actually, I thought the Beta was the first half of Act I.
It was.
I don't know why, but I can't get into the game as much due to the scale of my main character in the world. I guess I'm just not used to having an open-world environment in Torchlight either, but my character feels so small when zoomed out, and zooming in (even if just a little bit) also tilts the camera and makes it too difficult to view everything going on around my character during battles. I love how the fights are so large and constant, but my attacks feel like they have less of an impact as a result. I'm still getting into this game, so I have a lot left to experience, but these are just my initial impressions. Oh, and the soundtrack is absolutely wonderful; and unlike Diablo 3, they don't try to hide it in the background. It's loud, in your face, and adds to the atmosphere of the world while making battles even more frantic than ever before.
So, is this game like that one called "Fate"? The general idea of a pet that you can feed to transform into different monsters, and the whole aspect sounds very familiar to me.
Not bashing the game, looks fun, and DL'ing the demo, just wanna know if they're similar.

The developers of fate and diablo came together to make runic games, they fucked and they made the ultimate dungeon crawler hack and slash RPG. It's seriously the most polished and expansive game of it's genre.
This is basically the Diablo 3 we all wanted, so get it

Aside from obvious things like the classes, skill tree, and artstyle it feels exactly the same. Which isn't to say bad. Just not entirely new. I'm still more interested in Path of Exile and Grim Dawn.

Unless it gets more interesting beyond Act 1.
It's a hack and slash, it obviously feels pretty much the same. Difference is it's not developed by blizzard and well obviously Blizzard are literal gaming nazis I'll be darned if I give them money over this hip indie game.
Played some of the demo. Combat feels subtly better than beta and engineer is interesting conceptually. It also seems to be the one game that isn't currently trying to overheat my computer.
