Anthony Scaramucci, a senior advisor on the Trump transition team, told a group of business leaders convened at a bipartisan meeting by the group No Labels that President-elect Donald Trump is a free-trader who is looking to make trade deals more fair, not scrap them. "I don’t think we’re looking to rip up NAFTA as much as we are looking to right-size it and make it fairer," Scaramucci said Monday. "He’s got a great relationship, by the way, with the Mexican president. They talk regularly," referring to Trump and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto. [...] "I don’t think anybody in the administration from the top to the bottom is looking for protectionism. We understand the economic harm and the impact that would take," he said. "I don’t think anybody in the administration is looking for quote-unquote tariffs, but I think they are a cudgel, if you will, to lay out there if we can’t get the trade deals to be right-sided to now benefit the American people."
Good. NAFTA is overall a strong benefit to both our and Mexico's economies. It does hurt certain people, but you know it's not like we can't make use of the extra wealth that has been created to help them.
I wonder what trump's reaction will be when he realizes that not only can these things not be negotiated like private contracts, but that when the U.S. lays down tariffs, every other country will form an alliance and fuck US over with tariffs. [editline]6th December 2016[/editline] Fuck he's such an imbecile, the entire planet is set up as a rigged game where America is the winner almost every time, and he's going to do everything in his power to completely destroy that.
Too bad that's the last thing anyone on Capitol Hill or the White House wants to do.
In all fairness, if you were in DC would you care? Have you watched House of Cards?
In all fairness, if you were in DC would you care? Have you watched House of Cards?
Yikes, I know you're just trying to make a point but referencing a popular fictional TV show isn't the best way to go about that.
In all fairness, if you were in DC would you care? Have you watched House of Cards?
Probably not, I'd end up being corrupted by donor money and lose sight of why I pursued public office. If I didn't, I'd never get anything done because I'd make an enemy out of everyone who wasn't honest or actually working for the people.
Is there a "TRUMP'S BROKEN PROMISES" counter somewhere? Going to need something like the obameter.
I can't wait to see how people justify it when he turns out to support TPP
"He’s got a great relationship, by the way, with the Mexican president. They talk regularly,"
by that he means the time the mexican president told him he wasn't paying for his fucking wall and by regularly he means all the times since then he's said he's not paying for his fucking wall its like two separate worlds anymore, i honestly hope trump has a heart attack in office from the stress of actually being forced to live in the real world not his make believe world where facts don't matter. Like it or not, he's gotta do something to stabilize our allies in the middle east, Like it or not, when cities along the coast flood routinely due to global warming, he's going to have to do something about it, like it or not, when millions of people are marching on washington demanding healthcare reform (again...) he's going to have to deal with it. When parents of this country find out their kids are drastically falling behind because of massive cuts and restructuring of education he's going to have to deal with it. Basically he's a bull in a china shop right now but he's still going to have to pay for everything [editline]5th December 2016[/editline]
Is there a "TRUMP'S BROKEN PROMISES" counter somewhere? Man who outsources own jobs continues to outsource jobs in office
Man who outsources own jobs continues to outsource jobs in office
Cancelling NAFTA would be pretty bad for Canada though. Not just Mexico who has to worry.

Because he didn't retract anything.
Cancelling NAFTA would be pretty bad for Canada though. Not just Mexico who has to worry.
We can solve that with some Anschluss no worries.
My friend thinks its a tool by the global elite to establish the NAU and help form the new world order, lmao
Cancelling NAFTA would be pretty bad for Canada though. Not just Mexico who has to worry.
It would be bad for everyone which is why I (correctly) predicted he wasn't going to "terminate" the agreement like he suggested. Presumably now that he is getting briefs about things like trade and the economy he finally went "Oh shit" when he realized what every other qualified person understands. [editline]6th December 2016[/editline] But I don't see how people voted for him on the basis that he would Make Trade Great Again when he has spent his entire professional career benefiting from globalism and free trade.
The "the worst trade deal maybe ever signed anywhere" but gee ya know let's hold on to it just in case.
https://trumpgrets.tumblr.com/
Thank you for this.
