• Is this sort of photoshop brush even possible, and is there a plugin like this?

I'm trying to draw a hair texture. I want to make it so that when I draw a stroke and release the click/raise the pen, it modifies it like so: Is 100% solid and fades to 0% opacity at the last 5%-10% of the stroke Is normal brush size for the first 50%-75% of the length and gently shrinks to 1-3 pixels at the end Each stroke randomly varies brush size by up to %20 or so, to look more naturally random. Smooths the stroke so if I draw a sideways Z shaped hair for example, it will turn into a smooth S like shape Or, even better, is there a plugin that will let me draw a guide-path and then follow it automatically with strokes that can be fine tuned? So I could draw a single line and it will fill it, looking as if the line was a hair brush and creates hairs in the path, and allows me to change the scatter, size/length/color randomization? Sort of like the pen tool, or splines in a 3d program. [editline]7th January 2011[/editline] Something that could do this by itself, saving me hours so I wont have to draw hundreds and hundreds of precisely placed hairs myself. Can't you just paint out the hair like all the normal people do? It takes time but the result contains alot less blow.
Assuming you have a tablet, just draw hair from scratch. Paint a flat, dark colour over the space where you want the hair, then layer over it with increasingly smaller brushes on increasingly lower opacities and flow, while increasing the values as you go. With a tablet you should be able to do this fairly quickly and easily with the desired effect. There are some decent hair tutorials on DA that explain what I have written above in more detail and with diagrams.

Sadly it doesn't look as nice as it would with some kind of hair plugin. Just made a huge rectangular brush that was liquified horizontally then used warp to curve it to the UV map. Could you possibly upload those brushes? :v:
