I turned off my monitor and let a download run while I went to school earlier today. I have a 2 monitor setup currently, a 23" Acer H233H as my primary, and a 19" Acer P191w as my alt. They run great together and have for the past 3 years.
I got home from school today and turned on my monitor, and all the colors were dark and bleeding. The screen was flickering, not completely, but it was noticeable. The screen then just turned off, and the menu buttons are still displayed, but the power button is orange. The orange button usually means "no input so I'm sleeping," but the menu buttons would be off with it would that be the case. They are still on, and the screen won't come back on anymore. I've switched the cables and slots between the two and the other monitor has no problems.
Is this a monitor/hardware issue? I didn't touch the monitor at ALL before turning it on after getting home. I don't want to have to buy another huge fucking monitor because it's 200-300 dollars that I don't have.
Thanks in the future for any replies.
It might be the caps that have gone. If you can, open her up and post some photos of the circuit boards.
