I am in need of a new email client, one that has actually notifies you when you receive an email and runs in the tray.
Thunderbird was alright, but it never actually displayed my emails properly and had no mail notifications.
Anyone know any good ones? :)
I like windows live mail/windows mail

What the fuck?
I'm personally using thunderbird, just for the fact that it's bloody fast / handles multiple accounts with ease. No idea why your notifications aren't coming up, you need to have thunderbird running though (it uses peanuts worth of resources, so meh), but as for the display properly shit, can you post a piccie of what's going wrong?
I did use LiveMail for a while, but found it a bit too clunky / LOL SIGN IN NOW BEFOR LOOK AT EMAIL K

Media'd due to large size.
The font and layout is fucked up, and I need to use that as a form of 'proof of purchase' to enter Thorpe Park.

Looks like Thunderbird blocks images in your email or some weird HTML stuff. I have never had problems with HTML emails.

Try this Thunderbird add-on as well: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/2831

Oh right haha, thanks for that :)
Gmail.com
Personally I use Thunderbird on my Windows machine and Apple's Mail client on my Macs, and both do a fine job for my POP3/SMTP based email system. I do plan to move to IMAP soon though, so we'll have to see how they cope with those.

Shit didn't read the OP.
OP used an old version of Thunderbird, Thunderbird does sit in the tray ( though you need an addon for that ) and it does notify you. I haven't had any display troubles so far, you just need to enable displaying html and images.
Live Mail.
Gmail with this (Windows 7 only) doesn't specifically notify you but all you have to do is mouse over it to check.
I use Outlook, Works for me without any issues so it's there to stay.
I use thunderbird on linux installations.
If you use Gmail just use the official Gmail notifier. It's perfect.
I use G-Mail and the notifier add-on for firefox. Everytime I get a new e-mail I have the Mario 1-up tune come up.
Gmail and any of the many addons for notification, such as google desktop.
I use Kmail. :smug:
I recommend mail.com, there's hundreds of things you can put after the @, ranging from accountant to as far as homosexual. (Ex. IAM@homosexual.com) 3gb storage, which is more than you should ever need, and it's all free as far as I know.
