The first one
First one, ditch the soundcard and use integrated audio, and get the 4870 1 Gb. Get some RAM with heatspreaders.
build one [editline]12:20AM[/editline] but the first one and what above post said
First one, ditch the soundcard and use integrated audio, and get the 4870 1 Gb. Get some RAM with heatspreaders.
I do understand basic computer stuff and what is good and what is not but what is RAM with heatspreaders.
The first one but get better RAM.. 800Mhz..
With heatspreaders: Sans-heatspreaders: It does pretty much the same thing as a heatsink.
Changed the RAM. Is it good now?
Just noticed 5400 RPM hard drive, those are meant for low powered systems. Standard is 7200 RPM. You're really not going to notice too much of a difference, but starting programs, and booting up is going to go slow as fuck.
I actually did a test on that the other day. The difference between boot times on a fresh install of Windows 7 between 5400 RPM and 7200 RPM was only about two seconds.
Fresh install, yeah. But you're not going to be on a fresh install your entire life.
It basically means there's a 5% difference between the two. Unless your boot times are about 3 minutes on 5400 RPM, you're not going to notice a difference. He SHOULD go for a 7200 RPM but he'll be fine with 5400 RPM.

Just FYI, unless he's producing music on this computer, a sound card isn't needed. Integrated audio is as good as a dedicated sound card unless you're running a three thousand dollar 12.1 surround system.

Good to go then.
