He told the Press Association: “There was a guy who was being very brave and another guy with a white baseball cap who he was trying to control and the man in the baseball cap suddenly pulled a gun from his bag.”
After a brief scuffle, he said the man stepped back and the MP became involved.
He added: “He was fighting with her and wrestling with her and then the gun went off twice and then she fell between two cars and I came and saw her bleeding on the floor.”
After around 15 minutes, the shop owner said emergency services arrived and tended to her with a drip.
There was a report of the man shouting something about Britain First.
News article states critically wounded now.
If it is Britain First its time they're considered terrorists imo
If it is Britain First I'll be legitimately surprised.
I know they basically organize themselves as a quasi-paramilitary, but I don't think they'd go that far unless it was maybe an extremist faction within BF?
Assuming that the reports of 'Britain First' can actually be confirmed.
"He shot this lady once and then he shot her again, he fell to the floor, leant over shot her once more in the face area."
Wtf this is an execution

Not the first time something like this has happened - I thought they stepped up security after an Islamist tried to murder another MP:
On 14 May 2010, Timms was approached by 21-year-old female Islamist extremist Roshonara Choudhry, during a constituency surgery at the Beckton Globe Library in Kingsford Way, Beckton, East London.[14][15] Choudhry stabbed Timms twice in the abdomen with a 15 cm (6-inch) kitchen knife, before being disarmed.[16][17][18] She stated that she had been influenced by watching sermons of Anwar al-Awlaki, a leader of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, and that her attack was to punish Timms for voting for the Iraq War, and seek revenge for the Iraqi people.[19][20]
Timms suffered "potentially life-threatening" wounds – lacerations to his liver and a perforation to his stomach. A police officer at the scene remarked that Timms "was extremely fortunate not to have been killed".[21] He underwent emergency surgery at the Royal London Hospital, from which he was discharged on 19 May.[17][22]
On 2 November, Choudhry was found guilty of Timms' attempted murder. She was subsequently given a life sentence, with a recommendation that she serve a minimum jail term of 15 years.[21] After the court case, Timms said he was not bitter, but that forgiveness was not an issue until his attacker showed remorse. He has since sought the banning of incendiary material on popular internet sites "to protect other vulnerable young people from going down the same road."[23] YouTube removed some videos of al-Awlaki within hours of the sentence.[19][23]
Daily mail claims it was a "makeshift" gun, confirms Killuah's post above and shows pics of guy getting arrested.
Good thing the idiot is not dead and can now be questioned and invetigated.
Hope she pulls through, we had a similar case with the Mayor of Cologne being attacked with a knife for her liberal policies by some exremist idiot.

I wonder that too, as the main guy who was quoted for saying that the perpetrator did shout ''Britain First'' wasn't even present at the location when the shooting took place. We have to wait until more gets known, I presume.
My suspicion from the age of the attacker is that this is an attack from a nationalist group (most Islamists are much younger), but that is just speculation.

Pretty funny that British first memebers are now trying to defend themselves and say they're not like that guy because it's unreasonable to generalise everyone
Yet they keep generalising Muslims and immigrants under the same brush
Amazing
I shudder whenever I hear of a shooting here...

Goes to show no matter how much gun control you have, people will still find a way.

Cept he was using a "makeshift pistol" and not a semi auto rifle.

I don't see your point, gun control just meant he used a makeshift pistol instead of a factory made one.

Who brought up semi-auto rifles? What are you trying to agitate here?
I don't see your point, gun control just meant he used a makeshift pistol instead of a factory made one.
So therefore it limited the amount of harm he could cause?
I don't see your point, gun control just meant he used a makeshift pistol instead of a factory made one.
More likely to misfire, probably less accurate, hard to produce en masse, definitely less widespread, hard to acquire ammunition for it
TBH I'm surprised he couldn't get his hands on a none "makeshift" gun they're not that rare here, years ago in an area near my dads house I had a gun pulled on me, just some crazy guy who heard glass smashing and assumed it was me/my friends, nothing happened from it.

If UK had the same regulation (or lack of) as the USA that guy would probably have had a semi auto rifle rather than a "makeshift" pistol. IE more accurate, bigger clip, larger bullet, more dangerous in most cases. Sorry we should avoid discussing gun stuff here, there are other threads for that, this thread should be about the MP getting attacked.

You're talking out your rear.
You're talking out your rear.
Righto. Sorry you're absolutely right. No need to waste time discussing guns here, lets back back on topic and keep US gun regulation discussion in threads about the US.
:snip: what am I doing
Can we not turn this into a gun problem thread please, the UK doesn't have one.
i hope she makes a full recovery
i also hope they throw the book at the attacker - takes a particular brand of cunt to attack an MP coming back from a workshop to try and help constituents
just confirmed on BBC that she's died unfortunately
Simply awful. Is there still no motive? I don't see this relating to the whole EU thing but I could be wrong.
This EU shite is getting ou of hand. Someone has fucking died over it, it ooks like.
RIP.
