Screen goes black and then back to normal during gaming

I have Gigabyte GTX 560Ti, GA-7ZZ-DS3H and i5 3570k
During gaming my screen will randomly go black and then back to normal. In some games the game keeps running while in others it freezes. The blackout is usually about 2 seconds long. When it restores it's as if nothing happened. The frequency seems fairly random too.
It's as if the driver crashes and restores but I don't get the "driver has restored" message you usually get. And it happens fairly often.
I have no idea what could be at fault. The temperaturese are about 85c on average under load but the blackout happen at random temperatures, like sometimes it happens at 75, others at 80 and so on.
It doesn't happen under normal conditions, only while gaming.
I don't think it's my screen since when the blackout happens I can hear(or rather not hear) gpu fan and I assume it slows down/stops during the blackout.
It's a new computer, got it only a few days ago. I tried roll drivers back a version but it hasn't changed anything.
Checked cabling, tested with other monitors?
Which games exactly
Cabling seems to be okay. Can't test with other monitors as I don't have any other.
It happens rather often in crysis 2 (DX9 no hd patch), some times in BF3, some times in Darksiders 2, Deus Ex HR. Doesn't happen in Kingdoms of Amalur, TF2, Just cause 2, mafia 2.
I don't think it's screen since if it was, the fan wouldn't slow down, would it?

Okay so I tried to play in windowed mode and this time I got a notification that display driver failed and was recovered. Now how to fix this if at all possible?
Delete your graphics driver and reinstall it.

Did that, tried older versions too. Used driver sweeper too. I guess I will RMA it.
I get random driver crashes like you describe with no display driver error popups however if you go into the eventlog and look for the time it happend chances are it will tell you what happend then
