So I got a new 6950 and 650 watt Coolermaster PSU today. Installed both, installed drivers, but when I hit the desktop, about 10 seconds in, I get the BSOD.
I tried reseating my card, but same thing happened.
I removed the drivers in safe mode, and everything is fine again, so it must be a driver problem. I'm not sure how to check if it's a faulty card, it's working fine without the drivers right now without any artifacts.
My motherboard has a 2.0 x PCI-E slot
I have a AMD Phenom II Quad Core 955
A XFX 6950 2 GB (My old card was a 4870 512 MB)
And I'm running Vista Ultimate 32-bit.
Can anyone help? Should I reformat? Or should I wait for the 11.1 drivers to come out? I can't install older drivers either, since they don't seem to be compatible with my 6950.
Thanks!
Try the card in another computer, go to a friends and try if it you don't have a second pc.
If it works there with drivers installed, card is fine suck it up wait for new drivers. If not, RMA.
Whats the bluescreen error?
