In california, assaulting an ocean lifeguard is a felony. I hope it was worth it.
Why would anyone attack a lifeguard? What would you gain from that? It most clearly be either personal or spontaneous.
Couldn't the lifeguard see the angry people below his tower/chair/thing?

Adults don't like being told what to do. My pool says no adults in during break, and everybody gets all pissy with me about it

Really? At my pool, anyone over 18 can stay in the pool during breaks. They're old enough to be responsible at that point.
Anyways, attacking a lifeguard seems really dumb.

There's legal precedence due to FHA 1968 which states that housing amenities can't discriminate based on familial status. This includes pools, and courts have stated that you can't do a swim test, and you can't kick kids out during break
