Yeah let Microsoft take all the PR damage.
Hole fuck what? EA admitting they've fucked up badly with their shit meant to please stockholders? We're just missing a fat lady singing and then we're all set.
The new CEO is really changing things around imho.
Hell froze over? Anyway, the first step on becoming better is realizing where you fucked up. I hope you can be better in the future EA [img]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/heart.png[/img]
so this new CEO thing looks like it's working out all it took was for the angry neckbeards to vote them worst company of the year for two years
Good, I like it when a company isn't afraid to admit they made dumb decisions.
John Ritochelli leaving was the best thing happening to EA in the newer years imo.
I think it's more they're admitting they fucked up when it doesn't actually matter anymore since Microsoft is about to require you to do the exact same thing and they, with others, probably collaborated on it. so really this is a public favor grab, and a hollow one at that.
all it took was for the angry neckbeards to vote them worst company of the year for two years
I have achieved something with my life. I can die happy now without taking a shower.
If you read more into the article it's making it seem like they think microsoft will take the hit due to the DRM system. EA doesn't need to do it on a game level, MS does it on a system level.
Impressive coming from EA, but until I see what they do with PopCap I'm not ready to completely let my guard down :v:
What about PS4?
IF they think anyone sane would order a Xbox One then they are better off with blissful ignorance.
What about PS4?
I'm guessing EA assumes one platform is enough.
The new CEO is really changing things around imho.
They don't have a new CEO yet. The company is temporarily being run by Larry Probst, who was previously CEO from 1991-2007 Still, things are certainly shaping up since Riccitiello left
IF they think anyone sane would order a Xbox One then they are better off with blissful ignorance.
There where 7 preorders at my local vidya game shop, so SOME people want it :v:. Although that is balanced against 21 PS4 preorders.

NFS Underground, Early BF series, SimCities, Crysis, James Bond games. Suddenly after 2007, it dropped except for the games by major studios who have enough say to do it alone. EG Dice with Mirrors Edge and Bad Company.
The recession in 2008 had a hand in the declining quality in video games over the past couple years as well.
I bought so many Indie games since then. I haven't played half of them.

In 2008 to like 2010 they were still following his plan for EA after he stepped down.
John Ritochelli leaving was the best thing happening to EA in the newer years imo.
Best thing to happen to the consumer maybe, but I would imagine that all the online passes and in-game purchases likely made them a tidy profit. They will probably end up losing a large chunk of cash by removing the passes, but may make up for it in new fans.

Between this, announcing ME2 and the new Star Wars game, EA is gonna have to do something drastic to get people pissed off at them again.
I'm optimistic that EA will turn out to be ok people I mean they're giving us Mirror's Edge 2 through DICE
Dice developed the first Mirrors Edge, didn't they? I don't see how this of any concern then. I bet that Mirrors Edge 2 is going to be more based on combat than the first though, which is sad because most people would definitely prefer the devs spending more time working on the parkour mechanics instead of some bullshit combat that's in every other shooter game imaginable..
What about PS4?
Sony has banned online passes on the ps4
