Yeah some drugs are just as (or worse) than being intoxicated which is why people don't generally drive or avoid things that become dangerous when under influence. I don't even drive my car after a few joints.

The guy seemed like an idiot. Honestly, every person I've ever met who does that hyperventilating shit is a dumbass. It's stupid and can seriously hurt you. Seems like he was a fool and would have wound up killing himself without the use of the drugs. PS: I got high once (I used a gravity bong my first time and inhaled it all) and it hit me like a ten-tonne truck. I realized I was too far gone to behave in a safe manner so I did the logical thing: I went to bed and lay down until the strongest effects had passed.
