Hello guys, some days ago (or weeks) I bought a L4D2 key from G2play. Some days later it got removed from my steam list, so I took contact with them so I could get a new key. They asked for all my information including picture of my ID, still after all that they didn't want to refund me or give me a new key.
But today I got an email, it was from them. It stated that they could get me the game back but that they would be needing my steam account. I said to no thanks ofcourse.
This is just a warning so people should never buy from them again.
EDIT: I MEANT L4D2, A TYPO
Buy games from Store or Steam, anything else is being stupid.
cool
why don't you just buy the games off of steam instead?
Thanks for the heads up.
I've heard about them asking for Steam accounts.
I don't think it's for malicious purposes - they're pretty communicative with their customer-base, on Twitter and whatnot. If they were scammers, they wouldn't be so active in public relations.
I think they're just stupid & shoddy businesspeople, and they don't realize how wrong it is to ask for that info.
On one hand, you could say it's like a host asking for a server's root password (which happens a lot for legit reasons, and also pisses people off). On the other hand, Steam info just isn't supposed to be shared.
Tell them that it's inappropriate for them to ask for that info, and that you want your key. If you tell them on Twitter, maybe it'll put them on the spot and you'll get the response you want.
I barely trust steam let alone anything else.

Why? Steam is legit.

Yes, I paid 15$ for MW2 and I feel very dumb not paying 60$ for it.
(No not really.)

Also did they ask your account name, or the password? If they were just checking if you still had the game there..
I barely trust steam let alone anything else.
The money they could have using all the valid credit card number does not worth the money they could do overtime as a legit company selling games.
So it would be stupid if they steal your info.
No they didn't. Other people have used them before, and it has worked. They are here to make business, not steal your account. This way they could make sure you weren't lying saying that none of the cdkeys worked.
Okay people told me to send my password anyways so I did that, only to find my password changed some hours later. Luckely, I had verified my email, so no harm was caused!

Provide them a screenshot of your games list without it in it, and show a screen of activating the key. Then just tell them you paid for it and you can add it yourself.

Don't you think I have already tried that? The only thing they reply with is: IS STEAM PROBLEM NOT OURS WE GET KEYS LEGAL! :psyboom:

You said it was MW2, not L4D2.
And just to clarify, EA demanded from Valve some time ago to remove any extraregionally purchased MW2 copies. Especially G2Play copies.

Whats with their really shitty english?
Wait, here you say it was MW 2 that dissapeared, in the picture the title says left 4 dead 2... maybe you were trying to trick them.

Yeah I said wrong game, was in a hurry.
Also, check the raw message, it's possible that you're getting and sending to an entirely different email than the one displayed.

That was one of the first things I checked, all are the same. I even tried to twitter em
It's your fault. You shouldn't buy from shady folks.
Nice spoof...
of yourself?

Yeah, I could even show you a recording if I knew how to hide MY email.
Get the fuck out of here :dogout:
I would never deal with a company that does not speak proper english in the first place, let alone give them my account info
I've been looking these guys up.
It appears they do business by buying cheap retail copies of games, taking the serial key from the boxes, and then they return them. One person has also said that he discovered that they were selling MSDN Windows 7 keys, which is definitely illegal. Another man said that he bought a Kaspersky Anti-Virus key and it was blacklisted a few months later. I'm sure a similar thing happened to you.
This is a business nobody should trust. I say business, but I would be surprised if it weren't just a couple of guys in an apartment.
They said the same to me. I just wrote a complain that basicly said "Fuck no bitches" and then they send me another key.

So they do the white house scam pretty much? And dude, I am not surprised. You bought a key that you KNEW was coming from a not so legit place. You took a risk buying it from them and that's the price you pay. Use Steam and zero risk.
