Half-Life is a novel revolving around the life of a gay youth, and his tribulations with love, death, and more. Two weeks before high school graduation and the geography of 18 year-old Adam Westman's life is about to change dramatically. Many of the familiar landmarks will remain—his best friend Dart riding shotgun; the suburban house where he lives with his dad and younger sister; and the numerous on-ramps and off-ramps that connect him to his hometown of Angelito in the center of centerless Los Angeles. But when death and love, perhaps, arrive unexpectedly, Adam must learn that trouble sometimes has to rumble through a tidy world to make room for the kind of magical connections that make life worth living. In 2004, this book was nominated for both a Lambda Literary award, and a Violet Quill award. I think this was a very good book that helped me become more secure. I decided to repost it since it accidentally got locked in the server switch. Totally unexpected.

Damn it. Misleading title.
This thread should be in the Valve foru- what the hell is this?
it has the same name as a popular video game so we apparently care about it
Legendary Misleading Title 2010 nominee here.
OP is expecting funnies and gaybows.
He's gonna have enough bows to wrap every present in a large city.
Do you think Valve could claim copyright on this book? Afterall, Half Life is a trademark of Valve and this was released in 2004. You can't copyright SCIENCE!
You can't claim copyright on a name, probably the concept and the logo could be claimed.
Do you think Valve could claim copyright on this book?
Since it's a completely different form of entertainment than half-life the video game, they'll probably never claim a copyright, also it's been 6 years.
Of course they won't. Was just wondering.
This and the thread of boobies was misleading.
A fascinating book if I do say so myself. I think we should start a Facepunch Book Club. This can be our first read.
And where does Gordon Freeman and his Crowbar step in? :colbert:
Well, there's a guy with a goatee and a long, hard weapon, but it's not Gordon Freeman and his Crowbar. (It's Shephard and his Monkey Wrench)
What the fuck is this
I wrote a book called Half-Life. But it was about a decaying radioactive bomb.
This and the thread of boobies was misleading.
And the thread about Episode 3 being canceled, but that was in General Games.
"In 2004, this book was nominated for both a Lambda Literary award, and a Violet Quill award." Has no one noticed this? Lambda? The symbol frequently seen in Half Life and Half Life 2.
Should be called a Microthread.
In 2004, this book was nominated for both a Lambda Literary award, and a Violet Quill award.
...not very believable...
