Police say the balloon was set down "in a controlled landing" in a car park on Carlisle Street about 7:15am.
There were no injuries, and police say the only mishap was when the balloon caught on the aerial of a nearby property as it was being deflated.

At first I though of this when I read balaclava:

It didn't make a whole lot of sense
not sensationalist - more like ridiculously and nonsensically misleadingist

take it up with the australians they are the ones who came up with this misleading name for their town.
unless the town is filled with the phoenix-connection terrorists from counter-strike, then the town just became super awesome
Aha, I know where that is. I used to walk down carlile street past there every other day, years back.

I thought there was a heaps old town in Europe called Balaclava first?
I don't know, it's probably bullshit but didn't the balaclava (head thing) come to be called what it is after a battle in that town and some soldiers decided to wear something resembling a modern balaclava to keep warm?
Damn balloon delayed my tram this morning by 3 mins. Australian efficiency, so no one cared.
-snip late-
