That sounds awesome actually, maybe I'll give it a go
Shit, I remember hearing about this ages ago. Glad to see they've made progress!

I remember they even announced it was dead, and like a fucking phoenix they come back
I'm hype as fuck. Sure the bugs will be plenty but I can't wait for someone to get the SP campaign to come back
Crysis co-op should actually be practical since in 2007 I was the only one of my friends able to run it.
I should give it another go since last time I played it, I was getting 20-30fps with a GTS250 now I have a GTX970
Crysis was always a game that felt like it would be perfect for coop.
I hope they finish all the campaign maps because that would get me to replay crysis again.

Probably won't be that much better, Crysis doesn't really benefit from newer hardware because of some driver issues or some shit I forgot.
I hope I can run Crysis
I've never actually played Crysis. I didn't have a computer that could run it when it came out and I was like 9 so I couldn't buy shit anyway.
Maybe I'll pick up a couple of copies and play through it with a friend.
Crysis is pretty fun really, especially if you play it like a stealth game.

Yeah it's really fun if you don't take it seriously because of how easy it is to fuck around.
Even if you're playing stealth and you blow your cover, there are no penalties so you can just recloak and hide or say "fuck it" and mow them down.
Crysis was fun until they introduced those stupid aliens. I haven't played it but I hear that Crysis Warhead doesn't have those stupid aliens, or at least not as many of them.

Warhead expands on all the fun in crysis.
So, how are people playing multiplayer now? Wasn't Crysis a Gamespy game? It wasn't particularly alive when I last played it before Gamespy went down to begin with, unlike Battlefield (And Battlefront) 2.

It can be set up to use an alternate master server using some spoofing.

And it does the "superhuman suit" schtick really well aswell.

I'd say that Crysis is one of the best games in making me feel like a superhero.
only thing crysis really needed was even more destructibles and throwable objects
when the enemy upgraded from fun and destructible shantytowns to indestructible military bases and concrete it got a bit boring

What Crysis 2 should've been. First but better improvements to stuff like that.
I used to play an other coop mod with a friend, map triggers were glitchy but alien AI was working , but with lot of lags.

Instead we get an even less destructible and ultimately far more linear New York that tries to compensate with different situation approach points, which might as well be a stripped down, marked and blatant version of just doing whatever the hell you wanted in the first game. And that isn't getting into the streamlined suit modes. Crysis 1 to Crysis 2 is pretty much the perfect example of how a transition from a PC-oriented game to a console-oriented game can be for a series.

Surprised to see the MP is still going. When it was still running on GameSpy before I hopped on once a few years ago. There was one guy with some cheats going on, I understood how the Koreans felt after that...

I see it more as an example of how devs can overcompensate while catering to an audience they don't really understand. Crysis 2 didn't have to be the regression that it was, even with the plan of porting it to consoles. It's a damn shame.

They later ported Crysis 1 to consoles (CE3), and it worked just fine!
The consoles weren't what limited Crysis 2, I feel the new storywriter may have been a bigger issue.
I still kinda want that CE3 crysis 1 ported back to PC for the extra performance and features

Didn't the console port of Crysis 1 cut the air-combat level, the multiplayer, and have the dumbed down Crysis 2 suit modes?
Didn't the console port of Crysis 1 cut the air-combat level, the multiplayer, and have the dumbed down Crysis 2 suit modes?
The air combat level was the worst tbh, not surprised they cut it :v:
I'm not sure why the multiplayer was cut. Maybe they didn't expect it to reach any popularity on consoles, or maybe it has something to do with porting the game to another engine.
When it comes to controls, the game had so many functions that some had to be accessed by holding buttons or pressing two buttons at once, it was hard to map all that shit to a controller. As a result, suit modes were automatic in a sense.
You could toggle cloak and armor.
Speed would activate if you were running (except when cloaked)
Strength was the default mode.
The game does not at all feel like Crysis 2, it's Crysis 1 with all it's controls mapped to very few buttons.
The air level was cut because of size, but also because it fucking sucked, the MP probably would have required way more time to properly port (also imo it was pretty half baked in the first place), and the dumbed down suit modes still worked pretty well, though the actual dumbing down was unnecessary. The 360 controller scheme that shipped with the PC version integrated the more complex suit functionality pretty well.
