As the title says, I need a great LCD monitor that is $200 or less.
I searched up on Newegg and found this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236052. But some of the reviews talk of flickering and then eventually the monitor dying but it's rated very high so I'm not sure of what to do.
You could find some very good deals in your area's craigslist, but if you only want new, Acer makes some fine monitors for a budget.
NOO! GET DELL! They are awesome! My LCD has worked for 7 years! No joke! But my PC has had a lot more trouble... Anyway, the LCD screens are top notch.

I seriously want to die at this. It's not fanboyism but REALLY. Dell is PRETTY Unreliable when it comes to hardware. Really..

I mean. Get dell if you're an office jockey who will only use MS word. Otherwise.. Go with another brand.

He may have been a been frantic but he is right. Dell makes fantastic monitors, some of the best monitors on the market besides high end LCD brands like Apple, Eizo or the professional NEC monitors. The Dell Ultrasharp series is pretty much unrivaled in it's price range.
Huh. Must just be my paranoia about every single Dell pc i've come across either crapping its circuits out of its collective arse or just generally being bad as hell.
Dell makes great monitors. Samsung would be my second choice, the price is right and they have good warrenty too.
dell monitors are good what are you talking about

Depending on the monitor itself, both Apple's and NEC's monitors can be of a pretty bad quality (from what I've seen, rare though), and Dell is known for being some of the bottom-line quality you can get.
Seeing as you have +3 Dell screens, and I have 0, I can't really argue with you about how good they are, but the man is right that Dell is known of being a pretty poor quality.
I'd say stay away from HP monitors, and go with either BenQ, Samsung, or Dell. LG monitors sometimes require some bullshit drivers to work, which fucks up when using full-screen applications.

Well I was talking mainly about the Dell Ultrasharp line that I mentioned. I personally have never seen a bad looking Cinema display and yeah I've seen marginal NEC monitors but their high end workstation lines can be amazing. I don't recommend Samsung on personal experience, at least not for media work, as the Samsung I've bought (and most that i've seen) have poor backlighting with light leakage.
yeah I have only had ultrasharp line in my life so maybe they're other line is crap
I own a Dell S199WFP monitor, which I got for $279 a few years ago. No problems, the antiglare coating is great and it survived a baseball toss to the center (Friends were waiting for a movie to burn, were tossing a ball back and forth with 6 feet in between them and then missed).
I win?

23" LED LCD Asus monitor : $200
I have 2 of the monitor the OP linked to. I've had them for about a month or two, no issues so far, I absolutely love them and recommend them to anyone.
Asus makes good monitors
I think you should get this
