Would a manufacturer replace a three year old card that stopped working?

Self explanatory. Would a manufacturer ever cover a card that stopped working after the warranty period? (Say there was a recall or something I wasn't aware of).
Any ideas? (Card is Sapphire's 4870x2), bought in 2009, they only cover 2 years).
