So this is the first time I've ever done any sort of PS painting, so don't brutally rape me for this
Stuff left to do:
Eyelashes
Hair
Improve lips
improve shading of skin around lips
Try to get rid of outlines

So what do you guys think? Improvements, tips etc.
Finished

The right nostril should probably be more visible. Other than that, your list covers anything else I was going to bring up.

But I guess if you want critique... I dunno at such a very early stage (or what I hope is an early stage) it's very difficult to critique. Right now it just severely lacks value contrast and any application of any colour theory. The eyes are painted quite well in terms of brushstrokes but they don't really look anything like eyes. You should do smaller studies of different features in pencil before you start painting a portrait like this.
Post your reference picture?

Could've done better, but meh
I think you completely ignored my post.
Look up some tutorials and do some studies of different anatomical features before you start trying to do full portraits because every individual element of this is wrong: skintones, the eyes, eyelashes, lips, nose, hair... all of it is wrong.
From your WiP I think it's pretty clear you started with the detailed eyes first and then started worrying about the skintones. This is a bad thing to do. You have to get the general feel of the face down first, the way it catches light and casts shadows, and then worry about the detail. What you've got here is some really pasted-on looking facial features and then completely flat and under-contrasted skintones.
Other than that, you know: eyelashes don't look like that; noses don't look like; eyebrows don't look like that.
Again, what was your reference? I suspect you didn't have one.
Look up some tutorials on how to paint the different features or, better yet, put that tablet to one side and pick up a pencil and learn how to actually draw this stuff before you mess about with Photoshop.

I did have a very loose reference (a friend's face)
However, like most things I start out well, I finished this one in a hurry and ended up ruining it. I guess I focused more of skin coloring rather than proper structure. I started to eliminate details from the rough sketch to make way for the colors and started to loose the 3D feel of the face in the hurry.
I ended up sitting drawing the same face for too long, and began to get weary of drawing it, so that was one of the reasons I rushed it. It's a really bad habit I picked up I don't know when, I just can't seem to not want to finish something in more than one sitting.
Oh well, my exams end next friday, so I guess I'll get started on a new face
But thanks for the advice Chesty
