• Need some feedback: Going to update my GPU...

Back in 2011, I bought a nice new PC with all the latest shiny hardware. Among them an AMD Phenom II X6 1100T (Black Edition) and a HD 6850 Toxic GPU. Now with the next-gen consoles around the corner, I was thinking about upgrading my GPU. And the new HD8000 series are supposed to come out this fall. Problem is, I don't know if my CPU will be bottlenecking my GPU when I buy a high-end one (HD8950 for example). I realize Phenom X6 isn't that worse in comparison to let's say an FX6300. I just want to squeeze as much as possible out of my system (have an AM3 socket motherboard, and I realize I could buy a new mobo to get AM3+ support so I can buy an FX, but I don't plan on buying a new mobo anytime soon.) So I want to ask, how much will my X6 bottleneck a new GPU? I must mention, I do not intend to play the latest games (Maybe Watch Dogs and The Witcher 3, but we'll see) I just want to get better performance in some GPU intensive games like The Witcher 2
Just buy a new gpu, then buy a Intel combo afterwards. AMD is waaay behind and it wouldn't be worth it to keep upgrading on it.
Get the new GPU, but AMD aren't really all that far behind unless you're doing stuff that only utilises a single thread.
upgrading will give you a huge performance increase. But, will there be a bottleneck? Im not sure if it will bottleneck a 8950, but it will barely bottleneck a 7950. Cpu demanding games won't run as good, but games like metro last light will run fine. Edit: about upgrading to a am3+ : you shouldn't (in my opinion). You should better invest in a 1155 socket. Altough an am3+ cpu like the fx 8350 gives you more bang for your buck at lower prices, i'm not seeing something spectacular coming up for the am3+ series.
