Tim Burton’s involvement in “Beetlejuice 2″ is no longer a rumor, as he’s officially in talks to direct the sequel for Warner Bros., multiple individuals familiar with the project have told TheWrap. Michael Keaton is expected to reprise his role as the titular fast-talking, black-and-white stripe-wearing ghost with the most. The Geffen Company, which produced the 1988 classic, will produce the sequel with Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions.
http://www.thewrap.com/tim-burton-talks-direct-michael-keaton-beetlejuice-2-warner-bros/ Man I loved the original movie growing up. I really hope this doesn't suck, assuming it even actually happens. They've tried before to make a sequel to this back in the 90's (Beetlejuice goes Hawaiian) but that totally fell through. Maybe second times the charm. Also, obligatory thread music:
Forget beetlejuice, we need another Burton/Keaton Batman movie!!
Oh hell yes, my childhood halloweens and rainy days.
i really hope they will stick with stop motion effects and such rather than cgi
Is he still going to Hawaii?
In 1990, Burton hired Jonathan Gems to write a sequel titled Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian.

Is he still going to Hawaii?
Everyone's been wondering that but it's not known yet how much, if anything, will be taken from the original sequel's script. Probably doing it from scratch though. What a goofy concept that was.
i uh, don't have much faith in tim burton anymore
Beetlejuice was great, although I don't see how a sequel could be done and still be as funny and original as the first one.
First Army of Darkness 2, now Beetlejuice 2. Somebody in Hollywood loves me.
$10 he's gonna shoehorn Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter in there.
Never knew there was an attempt to make a sequel. Always though the Beetlejuice animated series(a prime example of something that really wasn't kid friendly being turned into something thats was both kid friendly and enjoyable) was meant to be it. I'd probably go see this, especially if Micheal Keaton was reprising his role as Beetlejuice.
Yes yes yes yes I can't say the word "yes" enough times holy fuck. I don't care if the original didn't really need a sequel, everything Tim Burton makes is gold.

I don't know if they will be able to pull it off again, especially since everyone seems to getting less tolerant.
I bet Johnny depp will be beetlejuice guy
Yesssssss This was my childhood [editline]22nd October 2013[/editline] (I had a pretty weird childhood)
the last good thing tim burton threw together was the corpse bride and that was passable at best
i always thought everyone hated corpse bride, though that might've been because they were expecting nightmare before christmas 2 out of it
I'm . . . so ridiculously reserved about this. Beatleguise is one of my favorite characters of all time, but I don't know if this could work. I mean, he's only #99,983,838,750,000 in line!
