Recently i've been thinking of buying a new set of drawers for my bedroom, but then realized I already have some. Now, I forgot to take a picture before I started, but it was pretty much along the lines of; 4 shelves 3 drawers underneath. like this almost, but with one added drawer [img_thumb]http://images.esellerpro.com/2215/I/730/0/medscaleP1010143.JPG[/img_thumb] [B]Tools used: [/B]Old embroidery tape measure Black biro Homebase hammer Asda £2.50 pen knife Rusty saw Pics: Here is the cutting beginning, I'd like to also point out that I found the saw in our garage, it was covered in spiders and plenty of rust. So sawing took a little while to do. [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22303690/diy/IMG_20110904_135705.jpg[/img_thumb] Head = off. Looks pretty cool if I do say so myself. [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22303690/diy/IMG_20110904_140923.jpg[/img_thumb] Edge pre sanding, compared to the shot above.. mmm smooth [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22303690/diy/IMG_20110904_140933.jpg[/img_thumb] Nicely sanded off, I also slotted a section of chipboard in the back aswell for support. This was cut to size with my pen knife. [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22303690/diy/IMG_20110904_142227.jpg[/img_thumb] Tacked it in place with some amazing gold panel pins. [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22303690/diy/IMG_20110904_142510.jpg[/img_thumb] Final sanding down of the back to make it nice and flush..ish [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22303690/diy/IMG_20110904_142959.jpg[/img_thumb] The final product, you'll have to excuse the stickers. I've yet to remove them.. God I liked some awful music back in the day. That came out pretty well. They make a roll of tape that finishes the ends of particle/plywood. [url]http://www.amazon.com/Maple-Wood-Edge-Banding-Tape/dp/B0007SVEA0[/url] This kind of stuff. It may tidy up those edges.
I was expecting furniture with hidden Decapitating sawblades.
I would strongly suggest covering or sealing the ends of the particle board that you "decapitated."
