Hello fellow business entrepreneurs, over the last several weeks with the warming of the weather coming into spring, I've found my brain to be defrosting somewhat and ideas beginning to once again flow. Upon a particularly warm day I, with the help of a certain semi-frozen beverage, came up with a grand business venture which I now fervently hope to pursue. I thought I'd come to you, facepunch, to find ideas on how best to achieve my new dream. The idea behind this dream is that when it is HOT, beverages that are COLD are more pleasing to their respective drinkers. The inverse is also true. My research can be displayed in a graph such as this: With this in mind, I thought of a problem regarding the procuring of a slurpee. When it is hot, no kid can be bother walking to 7-eleven just to buy a slurpee when they could just go home and put ice in their pants or whatever the youth of today do. So my proposition is a means of transporting the slurpee to the customer. The Slurpee Truck! With clear signage to show what the beautiful vehicle proffers to customers, it is a marvel to look at. Within, it has a slurpee machine with up to 6 flavours for prospective customers. These will rotate weekly through the summer months. It has an employee and a turnstyle at the rear of the truck so that the more badass children are not able steal slurpees. The ideal route would be, beginning at 10.30, driving to three schools for five minutes each during recess and stopping the truck outside while the kids quickly run into the back and buy the slurpees before the teachers can stop them. The same will be done at lunch, then after school. Now, I have several perceivable problems. 1. Copyright. I think 7-eleven might get pissed if I paint a truck with their name and sell their products for exorbitant prices. 2. Looking like a paedophile. Inviting dozens of children into my van with the promise of a sweet drink perhaps taints my image. 3. Power. I hear running a freezing drink spinner thing costs money. Which brings me to my last point 4. Investors. I come to you Facepunch in the hope that A) you will find more problems with my plan so that I can fix them, and B) so that the richer among you (someone got $10g from an internet paedophile yesterday right?) can finance this business venture in exchange for a lifetime free slurpee card. DISCUSS.
That 10g thing was fake, anyways how much do you have at the moment, and if you go through with this it must be a facepunching slurpee truck, make it red and white, maybe a big fist holding the fp logo somewhere on it.
good lord that is a good idea
That 10g thing was fake, anyways how much do you have at the moment
About $20 grand. I believe I'll need around $2.2million to get past the legal stuff and organise a fleet of these specially built trucks.
You could just use your own "slurpee" branding instead. STRE3TSLUSH
About $20 grand. I'll have 1 billion dongs sent to you imediatly. [editline]13th November 2010[/editline] You going to need these trucks to be the best of the best, armor plated, gold spinners, and a sound system that cracks the cement below it. As a bonus add in a pimpin diamond encrusted diamond magnet of that attracts paper and that shizz.
thankyou for your original idea
If i was actually some saudi oil tycoon or something i'd actually consider investing in this, it's a good idea
thankyou for your original idea
Has it been done? I've posted it in the Australia thread if that's what you're referring to.
the fuck do you live
Won't work OP, I've already tried this with Free Candy trucks.
It's winter here. :frown: [editline]imcoolwiththis[/editline] Oh wait I like winter. :buddy:
Its winter up here in washinton state .... I live next to a 7-11 How about you dont use a 7-11 image?
Its winter up here in washinton state .... I think I would need to rent the machines from them, but as far as I know they only use Slurpee brand machines in 7-eleven stores.
Dude what the hell?
What happens when summer is over and people want hot chocolates. [editline]13th November 2010[/editline] Use some awesome name and logo instead. Noone likes seeing the 7/11 logo, call it something hip and cool. Like "Hella fresh" That'd bring the swaggers out
Don't call them Slurpees. There goes your legal issue.
[img_thumb]http://www.shrani.si/f/3b/Qz/1turHtHI/slurpeewtf.png[/img_thumb] Dude what the hell?
Yeah that's the one. By the time I wrote out heat with the paint brush I couldn't be fucked writing another word with it so I didn't fix it. Actually, the first one works because I do tend to get a bit.. hot thinking about Slurpees. As for naming issues, who the fuck wants to buy a SLUSHIE or equivalent homebrand slurpees. Slurpee sells on the same principle as iPods, they're not necessarily better but everyone wants them more regardless.
It would actually be an amazing idea. If they had loads of flavours rather than just red and blue, I'd definitely buy from them!
is slurpee registered in the uk? if not, come over here an deliver
is slurpee registered in the uk? if not, come over here an deliver
It's never hot enough to warrant that.
This actually sounds like an idea that would work. But you would need to run this through a big city and not just a town if you really want to make a profit.
This actually sounds like an idea that would work. But you would need to run this through a big city and not just a town if you really want to make a profit.
Yeah I live in Melbourne, population 4 million or something. No shortage of customers.
Hello fellow business entrepreneurs, over the last several weeks with the warming of the weather coming into spring, I've found my brain to be defrosting somewhat and ideas beginning to once again flow.
Wait isn't it the fall
Won't the badass kids just go into a regular 711 when everyone is distracted by the truck and steal slurpees?
Get one of these badboys, makes it look far better and professional. Also i think its a good idea OP, you could really use the mobility of a truck, as in during worktimes stay close to the business district/malls and on weekends park near the beach or whatever (i have no clue where you live).
[img_thumb]http://www.mightysweet.com/mesohungry/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/01-lunch-truck.jpg[/img_thumb] Get one of these badboys, makes it look far better and professional. That way the kids can't steal Slurpees from you. Then once you've made some cash you can either buy another truck and employee, or start selling food, ice creams, or coffee from there to attract other market groups.

I always wished those things would sell like a shake or something.
while the kids quickly run into the back
Uh, that does not sound like an idea that would go over well. Sell them out the side. [editline]13th November 2010[/editline] "Hey kids. there's Slurpees in my truck, just climb in" I would not be too keen to do that myself.
