(This isn't a parody thread, the PS2 thread just made me remember the Wii sitting under my TV)
I've got a Wii with about 10 games and Wii Fit. What should I do with it?
I don't need it as a media center, since I have a PS3 and I never go on it at all.
Should I sell it? If so how much would it all sell for approximately?
Is there anything else I can do with it that's useful, like install Linux on it (that's not that useful but just an example)?
Thank you
Install Homebrew Channel.
Install Homebrew Channel, mplayer and the libs needed for DVD playback.
I can't remember where I read about it, but some guy tested how much power a 360, a PS3 and a Wii use when playing back a DVD.
Compared to the Wii, the PS3 and 360 chomp through shitloads of power.
What interesting stuff can you do on Homebrew channel that you can't do on a normal PC? If I don't sell it, it'll be hooked up to a 24" monitor which will also be hooked up to a PC and PS3 so the PC which is on like 24/7 will be the DVD player.
Is there any way you can make use of the Wii remote in cool and innovative ways? that sounded gay but oh well
Sell it.
I'll buy it if you're european and will let it go for a cheapo price.
Edit:
For a price, I'd say approx. $350 - $400, but it'll do +$500 if in very good condition (Original boxes, etc)

You can get a 160GB PS3 Slim for 299€, I'd say 350-400 for a Wii is a bit.. over the top.

Used games are expensive, I sold 4 DS games on Ebay and got $100
As the others said, hack the living shit out of it.
I think it was a lot of fun, just hacking it.

He didn't say in the original post that it includes the games. Much more reasonable price then.

I did actually. So selling looks like the best option then?
Either hack it and have fun with homebrews, or sell it for money you can spent on something else.
Or do both, and charge extra for "Super unlocked Wii" and count the installed homebrews in as "extra games"
Give it to me so I can install homebrew then stick on wiibrator and have fun.
Hack, Backups all your games, sell games and play backups

propably should've asked through pm's but oh well
You can make a Wii to a FTP server using this :
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Ftpii
Install emulators, configurable USB loader, WiiMC, and run all sorts of free apps from WiiBrew. :)
I did actually.
The post of Tools, not you.
Use homebrew channel and download emulators.
I have two Wiis sitting here collecting dust with 14 games + wii fit :|
hearing you can play quake on it sounds kinda fun. I assume you can play n64/gamecube games off an sd card with the homebrew channel?
fucking wii was fun until like march of 2007 rofl

I run all my emulators, gamecube backups, wii backups, WiiMC, etc from my wii. It's a launch system with 4.1 installed and all proper hacks and patches applied and up to date. I find it useful just having all my oldschool games I grew up with on one small console. Not only that, but it's also a good DVD player now, and playing Wii games from a USB harddrive is a blast. :P
You could probably get alot of cash for the older versions, old version as in the one that was easly hackable with software, and i presume its not up-to-date so boot2 isnt locked
Use it as a door stop.
Jaratii!
[sp]That was terrible.[/sp]
Can I have the wii fit?
I think I might install the homebrew channel this weekend on my release wii...any suggestions for gamecube -> n64 adapters? I'd like to use my n64 controller to play n64 games :o

Most Wii games/homebrew don't work with USB controllers AFAIK.
Install linux on it and run servers for profit.
