What? I thought this was going to get officially out of beta, but not like this.
Well now i ain't kinda pissed anymore that i bought all of the coh's then a free online version came out.
I have the real game, so I'm okay with this.
Another nail in the free-to-play model's coffin. And it seemed so promising.

What a stupid system anyway. South Koreans should stop supporting this shit.
As many of you already know, we recently announced a new patch for the retail versions of Company of Heroes, Opposing Fronts, and Tales of Valor. This patch addresses several multiplayer balance issues, game exploits, and integrates fixes that were made in Company of Heroes Online to our retail game.
Well, at least something good came out of this.
Fuck you guys, this was an amazing F2P game. It was really fun, addicting, and full of content. The pricing model was also absolutely fantastic and did not provide any advantages to buyers whatsoever, and almost nothing in the game required extensive grinding.
It was a casualised, grinding mess that polluted an otherwise exemplary and innovative RTS franchise. It traded competition for more casual appeal and that STILL didn't work, because F2P RTSs don't work. If the skill based matcher is working correctly, you should lose 50% of the time. That hurts in free games because you feel bad and you just dump it. You keep trying if you paid money for the game. Free to play doesn't work for games that have a learning curve and significant skill wedge.

The game was pretty competitive in ways and required a lot of strategy, I don't know what you're talking about.
Not by comparison to the jewel from which it spawned. And from which it leeched money and manpower. It didn't even record and display how many losses you had. I mean really now.
Seems like the only problem you were having is losing a lot. And the game isn't a "money leecher" at all.
Wasn't aware it had opened in the first place.
Damn i wish i hadn't missed it, how did the game compare to the original?

It wasn't bad but wasn't good either. I deleted it after only playing it few times once it opened for beta.

Original was much better.
[editline]2nd February 2011[/editline]
Correction: Original is still better. CoHo was a play to grind, buy to win type of game with stupid "upgrades" that overpowered one or the other.
Plus it didn't have the Brits or Panzer Elite.
Original was much better.
