My mom gets a discount on dell computers so im going to be getting a dell computer for christmas. I like to play games, and I would say my budget is about 600-900$.
Get an XPS
I have a DELL xps 420 for almost a year(1 year on my birthday 28th) it's been good and gett a good card for it and it's pretty great, I used the make your own computer on Dell
No Dell computer is good, you can't overclock.
yes you can with the xps
Do you need a monitor with it? Just start configuring some on their site, see how far your money can go.
If you have to get a dell get a vostro like this with 4 gigs of ram and maybe a gt240 or you could upgrade the card your self.

Also you will want to buy a 64 bit version of win 7.
I'm assuming the Dell coupon only works on their site?
If so, don't even bother. Thats the most overly expensive place you can buy from.
unless it's 50% off or something, don't bother with dell
Please elaborate on this "amazing deal" your mom is getting. Because building a computer will most likely cost less.
dell is fine you guys are just snobbish
dell is fine you guys are just snobbish
fuck off, dell suck
dell is fine you guys are just snobbish
They're great computers if you get them half off.
And you'll think more of it, because you built it.
she seems hell bent on buying a dell. when i told her i would have to build my computer she flipped
[editline]07:52PM[/editline]
unless anyone knows a site where i can get the computer pre-built, im gonna have to get a dell.
Just tell her to fuck off and chloroform her ass. Grab her credit card and purchase everything needed to build a computer, and a Dell sticker. When the parts arrive, chloroform her again and build it, making sure to put the Dell sticker on it.
When she comes back either time, act like she had never blacked out and she had been buying/signing for the computer.
Or, I guess you could just get a Dell if you have to.......
this whole plan is totally, 100% plausible.

great site and you build it and they send you it. I think your mom might not mind.
Does the coupon work with Alienware computers? If they do get a Alienware Aurora. If they don't get a Dell Studio XPS 9000.

good joke. I had a good laugh on that one.
lol
Maybe you can elaborate your situation. What exactly does the coupon let you save on?
yes you can with the xps
How come my friends Dad has a XPS and he can't overclock it...
[editline]06:28PM[/editline]
Also, another reason not to get a dell, he has had the XPS for less than a year and they got the dell guy out because it wasn't working and guess what! [sp]It was the Power Supply![/sp]
How come my friends Dad has a XPS and he can't overclock it...
With my XPS I can boot into the BIOS, I have FSB, HT link, vcore, RAM, and multiplier options.
XPS 625

yeah dell psu's suck
i've got a dell 750W and I hope it can support the 5870 Vapor-X i'm getting soon :ohdear:
Don't get a dell, just do not.
I've been there... like 6 years ago.
But still just don't.
