I've got comcast and the last time i had any issues was like a year ago :v:
North american servers lag slightly - 2k rp compensation
Game breaking lag that's been going on for 2 months on the EU side - "lel sry"
I'm not saying they should be giving out RP but it seems a little unfair.
I remember when they gave IP boosts every time there were server problems few years ago.
Good times
Does DOTA ever have these issues? If not, why?
[QUOTE=Alxnotorious;44030027]Does DOTA ever have these issues? If not, why?[/QUOTE]
...they're being DDOS'd less, probably? I mean if riot are getting hit as bad as they say they are it's amazing the servers are working as well as they are

On rare occasions everyone in the match will lag, or the whole system will be offline and I can't go into matchmaking. I don't think it's from DDoS attacks, just a balls-up with servers or too heavy load.
I wonder what's with the recent string of attacks against League, though. Considering it's a Moba community we're talking about, it's probably something really petty like someone's favourite champion getting a nerf.

Not even during the terror reign of Darius people weren't even close to even think about ddosing their own favourite game lmao

its a current global attack that is affecting lol servers because the isp's cannot handle it. Up to 400gbps

not really! the only cheat you can really do in Dota is map hacking and I've personally never came across someone who did it, after like 800 matches
[editline]24th February 2014[/editline]
... fuck i've played 800 matches of dota
what is my life

[editline]24th February 2014[/editline]

I think i got close to 2 times of that.
I swear this game is like crack: It´s bad for you anyway, but you´ll keep coming back either way.

i was told you couldn't map hack anymore because they don't network any data to you that you can't see

If LoL doesn't already do this then this is how they should. I'd be surprised if it was any other way though.

csgo even does it to some degree

LoL does this.
It's why sometimes you will see a champion icon at one point of the map, then it teleports to the real position. The packet that says that it's visible appears before the packet that syncs the player position.
Oh and I'm done with League, the server problems on EU is dramatic and ruins games that should be fun. Their respect for the region is highly neglected compared to every other region.

Don't worry Max, I'm about ~1500 since November 2012.

I'm going to assume that Valve has a lot more server partners than Riot due to SRCDS being such a flexible and lightweight client. More server clusters and harder to target a region wide slowdown.

This i can agree with.
Riot is beginning to piss me off, but i'm still coming back to it like a clingy girlfriend.
There always seemed to be some sort of server issues when I played lol about a year ago.
That little message in the top left saying the servers were fucked never seemed to go away.
Dota 2 does have sometimes big server issues.
When stuff like diretide happens...
