Thousands of campaigners attended a rally outside the BBC offices in Glasgow, protesting over perceived BBC bias in the independence referendum.
Around 2000 people gathered at the BBC Scotland building at Pacific Quay in the city on Sunday at around 2pm.
The offices have been a regular location for protest for Yes supporters in the run up to the referendum, with many claiming that BBC reporting on the issue has not been even-handed.
The latest rally focussed on alleged misrepresentation in a report on the BBC News, where Alex Salmond was asked a question by political editor Nick Robinson about major businesses expressing reservations over Scottish independence.
Campaigners say the report inaccurately claimed the First Minister did not answer the question.

The BBC is institutionally biased against the campaign for Scottish independence and has been spreading "propaganda" to keep the Union intact through its news reports, it has been claimed.
Alex Salmond, Scotland's First Minister, said the corporation was unconsciously slanting its coverage in favour of the Better Together campaign because its London-based journalists "don't realise they're biased".

A large crowd gathered outside BBC Scotland's Glasgow HQ to protest about coverage of the referendum.
Police said up to 1,000 people took part although other observers suggested a much higher figure for the crowd.
The protesters said BBC coverage had been biased against independence.
A BBC spokesperson said: "We believe our coverage has been fair and impartial and has adhered fully to the requirements of our Editorial and Referendum Guidelines."
Protesters gathered outside the BBC's Pacific Quay offices at about 14:00.
are there any examples of bias?
There is no way there is a thousand people there.
are there any examples of bias?

they've been getting noticeably biased towards the No side as of late. It all got sparked off when Nick Robinson asked Salmond a question during a media conference, which salmond answered to a very lengthy extent, but in Robinsons report, it shows the question, then it just cuts to him saying he didn't answer the question, when he spent like ten minutes dissecting the question and answering it.
The answer is here,

Robinsons report is in the first 20seconds of this video

Loads of shit has been cropping up I've noticed now, most amusing is this one.

BRITISH BROADCASTING CORPORATION
Ofcourse It's going to hold some bias, It's primarily a British run organization.

Aye we're not talking minor bias, we're talking doctored videos and outright lies.
The BBC is probably one of the more impartial news organisations there is.
It doesn't help when loads of people are claiming "mainstream media" is keeping their side suppressed. As far as I'm concerned the reporting on this by the BBC has been fairly decent.

Has it fuck, mate watch the videos Craigewan posted, they've been fuck all other than biased here.
Let's not fucking forget that they fucked with the market after releasing the bullshit news story about the RBS moving south BEFORE RBS actually informed the markets and explained the decision which caused pretty severe market worries.

I know, I've seen It happen in NI aswell. I don't watch the BBC or UTV news because I've noticed It holds a slight bias against Republicans + will sometimes alter/unrepresent Unionist events, to make them seem not as bad.
they also managed to do an OB (which i was standing behind the camera for) for network and it was about 50-100 yes supporters with flags, signs etc standing around and in the broadcast there was only one yes sign and three or four labour no signs
Remember Stuart Cosgrove, Head of Programmes (Nations and Regions) for Channel 4 called out the BBC on their bullshit too.
That was probably where the mile long march and convoy were going then.

Yes I've watched the videos, and there doesn't really seem to be any problems. There is the video feed being cut for instance, but the BBC has cocked up before in a similar way:

Give them a break. They aren't going around distorting things and being minitrue.

I'm not talking about cutting the video on the yes dude, I couldn't give a single fuck about that, what I do care about is them claiming that salmond didn't answer the guys questions and then tried to blow it up into a huge story when you can see that he did answer them, oh how about the video which literally shows Nick Robinson, acknowledging that the questions had been answered?

I hope the BBC hasn't just fucking destroyed any chance of a "No" vote.
I hope the BBC hasn't just fucking destroyed any chance of a "No" vote.
They did.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-29185319
If it was to distort the markets, why do it at a time when the markets were closed?
Also I'd like to point out for sheer comic effect, they also said Lloyds would be moving their headquarters south.
Problem is their headquarters are already in London, so just another case of the BBC shitting the bed.
it'd be amazing if even with the efforts of businesses, the BBC and pretty much all westminster politicians trying to scare us into a no, we end up voting yes, but im doubtful.

I read that the second picture was taken on a busy weekend shopping day. Most of the people there were not campaigning.
If it was to distort the markets, why do it at a time when the markets were closed?
Probably because RBS were gonna brief the markets when they opened.
Or because Better Together might as well be ran by chinchillas for all the intelligence they've shown so far.

Well Shell have already said they fully intend to invest further in Scotland regardless of the vote.

was said in the last thread and i'll say it again here, buchanan street is never that busy even on weekends with loads of sales on.
[editline]14th September 2014[/editline]
hell i've been in buchanan street in the run up to christmas and its not been anywhere as busy as that

The alternate explanation is the jumping on of any information that could be conceivably used as a propaganda boost.

Scaremongering and shit reporting for "propaganda" is disgusting. We're in 2014, It shouldn't be happening.

And causing panic in the market in the process, which you can't just get rid of by either ignoring it, which they have been, or by saying "Whoops sorry!" which they haven't.
Here's another video about the alleged bias
