• Building medium-ish computer, need to know if parts will work together

I know I made a thread like... 4 months ago about building a computer for my sister but now I'm actually going to do it. I've gotten it mostly ready: https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=14336346 Doesn't need a monitor, mouse, keyboard or speakers. The case does have to be kinda small to fit, she is going to do a bit of gaming so it does need to be able to run things. I'm not sure if it'll need that much of a power supply, or if the case will even fit it all. :byodood:
Need to make list public - I can't see it
I did make it public. :saddowns: https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=14336486 Does that work? It says it's public...
still can't see screenshot it [editline]02:54AM[/editline] and what games will it be used for + what screen size
It actually has the same video card and CPU that I have right now. :v: So it may be a bit much. Not really many games... one that she really wants to play is Need for Speed: Shift. The monitor is 1280x1024.
Memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227340 Cpu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103706 Mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157176 Cheaper and better.

Also overkill psu.
Not really many games... one that she really wants to play is Need for Speed: Shift. The monitor is 1280x1024.
4670-ish should be fine for that
the 4670 is fine of NFS: Shift. I have one and I can play it with settings medium/high (no AA) at 1024x768 with well over 60fps (I think the lowest I hit was 35ish) [editline]08:21PM[/editline] and my cpu is a Pentium Dual Core E6300 2.8ghz and I have 4gb DDR2 800mhz ram [editline]08:21PM[/editline]
What is your budget? No point in getting it if DDR3 is the same price
No point in getting it if DDR3 is the same price
it's not the same price everywhere.
Now I have: DVD Drive: LITE-ON 24X DVD Writer Case: COOLER MASTER Elite 310 HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB Mobo: ASRock M3A770DE Video card: BIOSTAR 4670 512MB PSU: Antec BP550 Plus 550W RAM: OCZ Intel Extreme Edition 2GB (2 x 1GB) CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 620 OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Not sure about that PSU either...
You'd probably be better off with a 400W-450W PSU. If she's going to be playing games casually then the current video card should be fine. May run garrys mod on high but nothing like crysis
PSU- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171046 Also here is a better GPU brand for the 4670. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102820 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150450
I'm torn between the 4850 and 4670 now. :saddowns: Need for Speed: Shift and Burnout Paradise are what she wants to play after she gets it, not sure how well how well the 4670 could handle them. Besides that (And using that PSU) it seems to be okay.
