Ive got a spare £25 and i could buy an extra pair of 2gb (1600mhz) sticks for my pc.
Im wondering if this is worth it though, will it have any affect on game performance? or will it only help when im running virtual machines / doing complex renders?
I've personally never been in a situation where 4gb wasn't enough, but I can't think of any reasons not to upgrade to 8 either.
Only if you need it.
If you are getting low on memory when doing your tasks, then the answer should be obvious. Won't have any affect on game preformance at all.

Well, can't you actually record game play with more RAM?
[sp]I'm really new to this. Please don't hurt me[/sp]
If you use programs that take a lot of memory and you feel you will benefit with an extra 4GB then go for it.

No. You might be focusing on hard disk memory, not RAM memory.
Yes if: heavy photoshopping and video editing.
Upgrading from 2GB to 8GB, strangely enough the only differense I've noticed is that I'm still idling at 50% :v:
Oh and the capability of running tons of apps at the same time, especially as my firefox takes up a gig alone, which took all my ram before.
If you have £25 to spare, and you're currently using over 50% of your RAM (currently as in whatever you're doing when you read this message) then I'd say go for it. Can't harm to upgrade.
OP you running windows 64 bit ?
