Sorry, Wrong section
but since I am desperate, here is the original thread.
Ok, just about 30-45 minutes ago avast gave me a warning about a virus alert, but it blocked it. then just like 10 minutes ago, it happened again, so I decide to access my 2wire settings to turn off DMZ mode so I wouldn't get annoyed all day by some people trying to access my shit. When I put in gateway.2wire.net, instead of it displaying what it usually does, (I tried yesterday and it worked fine) but it says it cannot view the webpage. Sorry if there is alot of mistakes in spelling and stuff but I am getting a little bit worried.

I have already begun scanning my computer.
Also I am not visiting a website when this happens, I was on FP though on the second time.
What web browser? Fix your proxy settings and check your hosts file.
dude, get MSSE. way better than avast, and it's free. avast just blocks the threat, until it finds a way around avast.

Avast! is free and I've found it to be extremely good.
Besides, MSSE is signature-based too, and threats don't spontaneously evolve.
Microsoft security rarely works, and rarely better than an antivirus such as Avast!.
For OP, I'm guessing you're typing the address correctly. Can you access it another way? For me I usually enter the IP: 192.168.1.254 into my address bar to bring up my router.

Mine is a 2wire, and it specifically says to use that link, I used it the other day and it worked fine aswell.
yeah no microsoft security essentials is a thousand times better than avast listen to me because
Microsoft security rarely works,
this guy has no idea what he's talking about
just because avast is free doesn't make it not a bloated piece of crap
but in relation to your network issues, that sounds like it's caused entirely by your router settings
