yesterday i got a 2600k and the temps seemed to be very high, about 47c on idle and 75c under load. Today they were a bit cooler, but it was also cooler today. I have a corsair H50 Will it get cooler as it runs more, or is this normal temps I havnt changed any voltages
They're about right for the H50. It's a shitty cooler, I don't know why you got it.

Shoulda got a hyper 212 brah.
Buy a Hyper212+ or 212 Evo for $30 or $35 US and watch your temperature woes disappear. I stay under 45C gaming at 4.5GHz on my 2500k.
This like your 5th thread
my 2600k is at about 45c-50c at 4.8GHz while under load.
What are your voltages. I'm on an NH-D14 at 4.5 and 1.342 under load and hit about 72c

How what
how are you hitting 72c with a d14 [editline]22nd January 2012[/editline] what thermal paste are you using
MX-4. I've reapplied it twice after completely cleaning my system. I idle about 38c and load around 65 while encoding, 72 is only during LinX

It has been extremely hot recently and i dont have any form of aircon so the house is extremely hot.
What are your voltages. I'm on an NH-D14 at 4.5 and 1.342 under load and hit about 72c
Wut, I idle around 30ish and load is never more than 54 with the NH-D14. [editline]22nd January 2012[/editline] Oh wait I lapped my CPU and use arctic silver 5 paste.

I never properly reapplied thermal paste when I upgraded to my i5 and I'm still maxing out at 50ish with 4.5GHz and a 212+.
My house and my room are normally very warm too. About 80f probably.
my room was about 95-100f. Im thinking thats the main cause of the high temps
