So I have an ASUS gaming laptop, and it has two power buttons.
The first one is for a normal start.
The second one is labeled "quick launch" and boots into some sort of mobile OS with a few bult-in apps that is not terribly useful.
Now, when I normally start my laptop in the morning, I have lots of random background programs starting that I might need during the day like chat clients and stuff.
The downside of having all that fancy stuff is that my laptop takes a long time to launch. No big difference in the morning when I can go make some tea, but occasionally I need it to start quickly.
Is it possible to re-purpose the ASUS quick-launch button to start the laptop with an alternative auto-launch list, i.e. without anything I won't immediately need?
I have this on my netbook and I remember that I wanted to do the same. I found a thread somewhere that said the you can chain book grub 2 and then a OS of your choosing. let me find it.

I never tried it before because my netbook would boot up fast enough, so I do not know if it works or how well.
