About a week ago I switched from a Linksys router to a Netgear router. On my Linux Mint 8, it finds the network, and connects, but then no program will connect to the internet. Help please! Oh, and all other computers connect just fine.
When you log into your router do you see your Mint computer displayed?
When you log into your router do you see your Mint computer displayed?
Well, I look at the logs for the router and it displays my computer. But the computer itself can't even connect to the router. (That is, can't connect by typing in 192.168.0.1) Here would be the log: (Mine is 192.168.0.101)
[DHCP IP: (192.168.0.111)] to MAC address --:--:--:--:--:--, Sunday, May 02,2010 04:43:48 [DHCP IP: (192.168.0.104)] to MAC address --:--:--:--:--:--, Sunday, May 02,2010 04:39:30 [DHCP IP: (192.168.0.108)] to MAC address --:--:--:--:--:--, Sunday, May 02,2010 04:39:08 [DHCP IP: (192.168.0.111)] to MAC address --:--:--:--:--:--, Sunday, May 02,2010 04:37:48 [DHCP IP: (192.168.0.101)] to MAC address --:--:--:--:--:--, Sunday, May 02,2010 04:37:01 [DHCP IP: (192.168.0.101)] to MAC address --:--:--:--:--:--, Sunday, May 02,2010 04:36:18 [DHCP IP: (192.168.0.111)] to MAC address --:--:--:--:--:--, Sunday, May 02,2010 04:31:47
I also deleted the mac address for posting
I also deleted the mac address for posting
Unless someone knows where you live and you have MAC filtering on, then you just wasted your time. We cannot do anything other that spoof our MAC to yours, nobody can do any harm to your PC just because they know your MAC.
Have you tried with a Static IP?
Have you tried with a Static IP?
Thanks, I changed it below what windows uses (read: every other computer here) and it works.
