It captures such an awesome scene, kinda eerie.

Piano intro is pretty nice, it seems to go off-tempo as the volume increases though. The added piano coming in later adds to this effect and it blends into eachother. There is a lack of bottom too and it just goes on building a tension that wants to break free and evolve into something else.
Change that comes near 1:23 adds to the chaotic feel, it doesn't help crash that tension however and comes and goes as it pleases, which I find pretty annoying. It sounds like it has no purpose, no meaning.
The best part comes near 3:07 where it sounds like it's about to explode, but no explosions here. IT just churns on til it dies and it leaves me wondering what actually happened.
I think what this song lacks is a clear structure, and more things that happens. The off-tempo and chaoticness gets better as the song goes on and I think the first feeling of off-temponess just comes from me not being prepared for it.
The intro does build up to something and I believe that you could cut it at 0:32, work on the piano so that it transcends into something similar but new and add a bottom. Make things happen that catches the ear and don't be afraid to have different melodies working on top of the primary melody. =)
Awesome. Confused the shit outta me but thanks for the effort.

Try toning down the "trying to be clever" critique and just be yourself.

I fail to see the "trying to be clever" part, it's a bit confusing yes but no way is it in any way hard to dechipher what I'm trying to say.

Why make it confusing though?
Why make it confusing though?
I guess the confusing part comes from me writing as I listen, I usually listen twice to get a clear picture and to get used to the music and if I find things that bothers me/sounds really good I add that on top of the text I wrote on the first runthrough.
That's something I need to get better at, rewriting my critique after that so that it's more coherent.
In other words, this is me being myself. :V
Don't want to make it confusing, just a bit of laziness thrown into the mix and I work on getting better at it. =)

You call writing 4 paragraphs laziness?
Damn.

Oh, no, the laziness part is me not organizing and rewriting it better after I've written the critique. =)
Pianists probably think I butchered their instrument. Oh well...
Makes me want to write ambient stuff. My problem is that I start adding percussion and then it just turns into another generic electronic song :v:
Ha, I like how you add more notes. Didn't notice them at first.
I really like this though. I don't know if you have already, but check out Sven Weisemann's album Xine. Lots of ambient piano, which this song reminded me of.
I will, thanks.
Love this. You keep pumping out some spectacular experimental stuff..it's great. Great piano noise too.
I like those weird off-color swells that start to come in.

You should see the post he did in my thread. He wrote long-ass reviews of every single song on my album, he's amazing.
