Fuuuu That's one Expensive class mod...
Yeah this game needs lots of fixes...
I figured this was happening earlier today. I got a sniper rifle with a ton of effects on it, but I noticed it had no scope zoom stat, which is basic for every sniper rifle. I figured it had gone off the stat card. Good to know I can now fix it. :D Borderlands is a great game, but damn it sure does have a lot of issues. It almost feels like they released an unfinished or just poorly ported console-to-PC game. There are so many things in the PC version that are just BASIC options for PC games, yet they're hidden from the GUI menus and only changeable via editing some INIs. I really don't want to have to mod my game just to turn on vsync or anti-aliasing or turning off toggle crouch. :\
This is fucking ridiculous. How the hell didn't they find out about this earlier before release?
This is hilarious
I really don't want to have to mod my game just to turn on vsync or anti-aliasing or turning off toggle crouch. :\
Don't forget the FOV. Hell even Bioshock and Far Cry 2 had this problem and developers who make multiplatform games still haven't learned.
It's more inexperience with the UT3 engine than anything else. The more complicated the engines become, the more horrifying keeping track of everything becomes. And considering the UT3 engine is controlled by a nightmare of files in the System folder it's really not that uncommon.

Awesome. I'll update the news post with this info.
Don't forget the FOV. Hell even Bioshock and Far Cry 2 had this problem and developers who make multiplatform games still haven't learned.
I can change the FOV? It's smaller than fuck right now, bugging the hell outa me.
Thank you, I've made the changes and put the backup somewhere.
http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=79043
To adjust FOV (Field of View): ----------------------------- Within WillowInput.ini: Search for [WillowGame.WillowPlayerInput]. Below the chunk of bindings, add the following: Bindings=(Name="F10",Command="FOV 90",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False) Bindings=(Name="F11",Command="FOV 110",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False) You can change the keys (F10 and F11) to whatever you'd like, as well as the FOV values.
Just remember to change one key binding and back before you edit the ini so the big wall of bindings will appear. [editline]12:27AM[/editline] Also, I hope something like a DarnUI mod for Borderlands will appear to fix the giant console text. Why do I need to press page up and down to scroll through a mission brief?
I don't understand how games release with these many problems. Do companies not beta test anymore? Another example with the original Halo 3 disk, in the control menus you could only change one option, tried to change anymore and it wouldn't save your changes. It's beyond me how most companies today seem to have the "We will fix it with a patch later." ideal. I pay $50/$60 for a game, I expect it to work.

http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showpost.php?p=1626085&postcount=258
The fix doesn't change anything tough, you can still only see 5 stats at max no matter how small you make your font. I haven't seen a release of a PC game being fucked up that badly in quite some time. A real shame because Borderlands is fucking awesome.

The cursive-looking font you had to change to in the previous fix is really irritating in-game.
I'm going through all the files trying to figure out what controls how many lines are displayed.
This is one of the best fuckups in gaming history. It's not really a big thing, but it is insane how big a deal it is.
I don't get it. Every issue in Borderlands is fixable by the users. Stop whining, they'll release a patch soon.
I think they should be focusing more on bugs that break the game rather than font problems. At least you guys can get to picking up guns. My game just crashes before it can load.
I think they should be focusing more on bugs that break the game rather than font problems. At least you guys can get to picking up guns. My game just crashes before it can load.
Well not being able to see entire weapon attributes is pretty important. I wouldn't just write that off as a mere "font problem" considering that console users don't have a fix for this.
But the game is still playable. Since I haven't gotten anywhere yet I don't know how often five line descriptions occur but I'm pretty sure context clues from other attributes will tell you whether a gun is good or not, regardless of what that fifth line says.
I hadn't heard of a single bug in borderlands until this what the hell are you all complaining about this being the biggest fuckup bullshit
I hadn't heard of a single bug in borderlands until this what the hell are you all complaining about this being the biggest fuckup bullshit
Borderlands released across all platforms with tons of pretty important and experience-hindering bugs. Everyone's decrying Gearbox because a lot of these bugs are pretty obvious and should've been fixed before release. The PC version still hasn't received a single patch.
