So I've always wanted a 12 string acoustic, and, coincidentally, driving around, found a neighbour who was giving away a couple guitars, most of them not really worth it, but in particular one really old 12 string. According to the serial code, it's from 1958 but it's so worn down I could just be reading it wrong. Anyways, it does have the problem of a large gashing running down from the bottom of it, and a missing the grip to a tuner. I tried seeing if I could at least get it tuned up without having to fix the crack, because I plan on playing it over at my friends later this week, but part way through tuning it I heard the wood start cracking and being a pussy decided to stop. I plan on doing something more permanent later on, but does anyone know of any quick, temporary ways I could fix this? I don't really have much experience in repairing guitars.

Take it to a shop. That's some major damage.
If you can't get it fixed I really want to sell mine :v:

Yeah take it to the shop. Just out of curiosity, how does it sound when you play it?
That looks damn near fucking unplayable, to the shop ye take it and hand it to the expert.
