• Over clocking my processor

Hi Facepunch, I need someone to give me a quick rundown on how to overclock my 2.90 duel-core AMD AthalonII. I have 3 gigs of DDR2 ram sadly and and am running on a gigabyte. Also, what is a safe speed so i dont blow my shit up. Thanks in advance Facepunch!
look through your bios for an auto-tweak or something if you just want a quick overclock most motherboards ive seen have it.
What motherboard is your system using?

I used OC Tuner with my ASUS P8P67 PRO motherboard, it changed my memory clocks to 9-9-9-24, which it wasn't before, but needed to be.

Use HWmonitor to check how much heat you're getting from the cpu. It should be safe to tweak it up as much as you want, if you crash or if it gets to hot just clock it down. Oh and to overclock it, boot your computer up into it's bios and look for FSB speed, turn that up a couple ticks and restart the computer.
Also, I love how I get boxed when someone who knows how to overclock had to be taught also. It's not like you pop out of your mom overclocking processors.
I think you were rated dumb because you can easily google how to overclock. Stop caring about ratings.
Well, thanks for the help kind sirs.
Can I select a certain speed?
kind of depends on your mobo
