I was wondering when they would be adding British tank destroyers, should be interesting to see what goes where on the tech tree.
This game any good?
This game any good?
I recommend it, you might say to yourself sometimes "How the fuck did i miss" But other than that, its good, im up to Tier 6 tanks.
This game any good?
Don't play it
Don't play it
Why not?
Why not?
It's essentially a large-scale game of chance with minimal opportunity to affect any sort of outcomes with a long soulless grind designed to fleece you of as much money as possible at every opportunity possible
It is probably best to turn back before playing it. The game isn't bad, just frustrating.
It's essentially a large-scale game of chance with minimal opportunity to affect any sort of outcomes with a long soulless grind designed to fleece you of as much money as possible at every opportunity possible
It's free to play with the choice of buying gold, nobody is forcing you to buy anything. I got some gold, helped me immensely. I think if you like the game and its free to play, there's no harm in buying a little to help you along.
One of the tanks in the new update
I like how it looks like a 80s-90s SPG. Like an AS90 or something.
I like how it looks like a 80s-90s SPG. Like an AS90 or something.
I'm hoping they will do some more up-to-date tanks in the future. That and i'm itching to try out World of Warships.
It's essentially a large-scale game of chance with minimal opportunity to affect any sort of outcomes with a long soulless grind designed to fleece you of as much money as possible at every opportunity possible
There is absolutely no need to buy anything from this game. The tanks you spend real money on are nerfed. the tier system works like this; A stock tier 5 would be better against a stock tier 4, but a fully upgraded tier 4 would be better than a stock tier 5. Given there's a sub range, like 4.5. A premium (or purchased tank) would be in that .5 range. Not great, but good. As for the gold and premium game time, that's completely unnecessary. I have money to burn in this game, and I hardly ever use premium game time. It only gives you an edge money wise, and speeds up your progression a little.

I suppose you could see it like Battlefield 3's system of "pay this much and you unlock all this" But then that would get rid of how the game is meant to be played and loose a huge chunk out of why you play it.

This is not the World of Tanks thread, though. Go there to discuss how much you like/dislike the game. If you don't wanna spend half your life to make any sort of meaningful progress you're gonna need to get a premium account or tank. Because everything cost credits out the ass to purchase and then maintain and matches give shit if you aren't the best player on the team. Once you get to higher tiers you pretty much need a gold tank to farm credits to fund the fucking things. It's just one massive, frustrating grind. The tanks are cool as shit and the game looks good. The matchmaking is WAY better than it used to be, but the hit detection is sometimes just fucking ridiculous. I've seen shots exit the barrel at near 90 degree angles, shots go through other tanks an do no damage. I've even had shots ding off places I had just penetrated. Is the game bad? Maybe, maybe not but IMO it's not worth the time investment needed if you don't plan on shelling out some cash. Oh and shit's fucking expensive anyway. Gold tanks run anywhere from $10 to like $30-40. Some would argue that gold is fairly priced but I disagree. War Thunder has WAY better pricing than this game does. Like fuck, I spent around 22 DOLLARS on ONE TANK and they still have the nerve to make you pay full fucking price for ammunition. I know you get a nice reduction in repair costs but holy shit, for $22 I expect to get a little bit more than that.
Is it bad i sold my T1E6 as soon as i saw it on the Christmas giveaway thing?
Don't play it

It's essentially a large-scale game of chance with minimal opportunity to affect any sort of outcomes with a long soulless grind designed to fleece you of as much money as possible at every opportunity possible
Can I ask you why you still play it if you so harshly turn people away from it? I see this a lot, people trash talk the game to no end yet they still play it, it just escapes me as to why you would do this if you could spend your time actually enjoying another game.

It's a game, and the only point I was trying to make is that you don't have to pay for it. You took it to a whole new level. Jeez
If you don't wanna spend half your life to make any sort of meaningful progress you're gonna need to get a premium account or tank. Because everything cost credits out the ass to purchase and then maintain and matches give shit if you aren't the best player on the team.
remember that it's a 50% boost, if it takes you 1 day to get X credits with premium it'll only take 1,5 days without it, it's acceptable. besides why play for grinding, play for fun and you'll eventually notice you have enough exp for the next tier if you play only to grind then i'm not surprised you find it annoying
Once you get to higher tiers you pretty much need a gold tank to farm credits to fund the fucking things. It's just one massive, frustrating grind.
high tiers are expensive creditwise to use because otherwise no one would play the lower tiers, which are necessary for grinding credits (t5-6s especially). you'll have a hard time not losing dosh even when using premium at tiers 9-10. it's part of the system to keep all tiers populated
I've seen shots exit the barrel at near 90 degree angles, shots go through other tanks an do no damage. I've even had shots ding off places I had just penetrated.
this game is a prime example of a game that is frustrating if you don't know the game mechanics. shots exiting at 90 degree angle? you're using the clientside aim reticule. there's a checkbox in the options to use serverside reticule, that way you will see what the server thinks you're aiming at, and those strange shots will be gone dinging off places you've penetrated? the game has +25% randomness in your shell's penetration, if the enemy has 100mm armor and your gun penetrates 100mm, you're gonna ding off about half the time. shooting at existing shell holes doesn't make the armor weaker at that point, because it'd make the penetration mechanics too complicated/even more random http://wiki.worldoftanks.eu/Battle_Mechanics
Is the game bad? World of Tanks is hilarious with a platoon of friends. Share victory, share defeat.
World of Tanks is hilarious with a platoon of friends. Share victory, share defeat.
I find that using fast tanks (A-20 or something) and rushing every poor soul we come across is the most fun in WoT.
this game is a prime example of a game that is frustrating if you don't know the game mechanics.
say that again after you post again about jumping into a lake because of awful teams I know how the MM works inside and out that doesn't make it and other things less frustrating.
