• Installing a new HDD

SO i just bought a new PC and got out my old 500gb hard drive, I popped it in the sled and slid it in. I start up my PC. It then presents me with a BSOD that says something about RAID 1.... What im thinking is it tried to raid the two different sized hard rives, any ideas on how to fix?
I'll need more details about your problem and the drives to be able to make accurate guesses as to the problem. Post both drives interface (i.e IDE(a.k.a ATA/PATA)/SATA). Are you trying to RAID to increase performance, or to add redundancy to your current setup? If its for performance you want to use RAID0 stripe (at least when you're only RAIDing 2 drives). You'll also need to configure the RAID setup and set the drive interface to "RAID" in the BIOS.
He says RAID 1 so I think he's going for redundancy, my guess is that if you are in fact using 2 different sized HDD's then this won't work. A couple Q's: 1. Did you build this with your own (or your friends/families) hands or did you buy it prebuilt from the interwebz? 2. How many HDD's were in it when it was first built? 1 or 2?
Uhm im trying to add space, Im saying according to the blue screen it is forcefully trying to raid them. It first had 1HDD which is a 1TB SATA 7200 RPM.
If you want to add space make sure that there is no RAID template set up in BIOS also make sure that your primary HDD is the one that was originally in the computer (the TB one i think). Some computers like to switch that stuff around.
