My friend wants a new PC, budget £500 - Please analyse this draft build

Hello all. I'm trying to convince my friend to build a PC rather than just buy a prebuilt. I've offered to suggest the parts and help him build it.
I've whipped up this draft list of parts for him and I was hoping you could go over it. He has a budget of £500, but he doesn't have a monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. so there needs to be money left over for that stuff.

If there's anything I've left out please let me know, also if there are any cheaper alternatives or things that cost the same but are better.
Thanks.

Old build I'd done for someone previously, when I have time I'll check around other websites for prices on these and try to fit windows 7 in the budget

VAT really screws you over unfortunately, so it could be tricky getting peripherals+OS under 500
Looks like our builds are pretty similar. I checked some benchmarks and the CPU's are similar in performance and price. The biggest difference is that the GPU in your build is a lot better, but it's also £40 more expensive which isn't possible in the budget with the os+peripherals.
Thanks.
Anyone else have any input?
I would get the PSU in the OP instead. It might say that the XFX Core Editions has got two PCI-E 6-pin power connectors, but it's not true. I've gone over this matter with Garrynohome a long time ago, and we ended up agreeing on something along the lines of the CX500.

And where do you see the 450W core edition on Ebuyer?
